Humanities Truck
США
Добавлен 5 апр 2018
The Humanities Truck is a fully customized delivery truck that serves as an experimental mobile platform for collecting, exhibiting, preserving, and expanding dialogue around the humanities. Using the truck, we seek to mobilize the humanities and democratize the sharing and production of knowledge by bringing together scholars at American University with community residents across Washington, D.C. Together we can collect, create, interpret, and curate stories that can return to the communities they originated from and circulate throughout the metropolitan region.
The Humanities Truck is made possible through funding from the Henry Luce Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and with additional support from American University.

Sarah sold me fentanyl
Spoken like a true Washingtonian
Guys, I’m not sure if this is the same person who just got arrested in Montgomery County. Her LinkedIn account doesn’t say anything about being a teacher
I wonder too. I think it is the same person.
Actually I don’t think it is the same person the news shows someone that looks different
@@carriecarrie7975 Where can I find the picture of the person who got arrested? Did they take a mugshot?
so this is her...wow...yeah she is busted...
“technically I’m still a gentrifier” yea you moved to dc and brought drugs into the community. someone died due to the drugs you put out into the community. the antithesis of promoting a “diverse thriving community”
She was just arrested for selling fentanyl after school to someone who died.
Hey, I know this guy! 🙂
😂🎉❤ I love it
Follow up!
Good harmony!
I encountered Dr. Brown's work for the first time in 1995 at the Million Man March. His work blew me away. I had to have it. He produced a provocative collage for the event. A legendary must see. Years later the song Black Brotha by Angie Stone captured the spirit of Dr. Brown's work. It's served a music answer to Brown's visuals.
I love Adams Morgan! It's always been a neighborhood for the people, let's keep it that way! #SaveOurPlaza #PeopleOverProfits 💕🍓
Hey Frank, long time no see, this is Reggie!!!
Sanctuary city politicians...don't complain about the drop-offs that are the result of your twisted thinking

Thanks for the upload with Mrs. McPhie. Mrs. McPhie brings up several points that we historians know are true. First, Chinese Americans were barred from most professions before the Second World War because of discrimination. Even English-speaking American-born Chinese with a college-education often had difficulty finding work in the United States, and many returned to China to find better jobs. Thus, it was common for educated men, like Mrs. McPhie's grandfather, to end up managing a laundry, even though he had been trained as a medical physician in China. Second, a Chinatown is by definition an immigrant slum. After Chinese Exclusion was repealed in the Second World War -- and with the English-speaking Chinese American baby boomer generation going to college and gaining jobs as physicians, engineers, and other professional jobs -- Chinese American families migrated out of Chinatown into the suburbs. They returned to Chinatown in the city center only to buy groceries or participate in community or church event, such as the Chinese New Year celebration. This is a phenomenon every Chinatown in North America has experienced in the late twentieth century. But since the 1970s and 1980s, even the Chinatown businesses and institutions have migrated to the suburbs, forming "new Chinatowns" (basically Asian-themed strip malls), and abandoning the old Chinatowns. In the case of Washington D.C., the Old Chinatown became gentrified, so that it is more of an upscale residential and shopping district with a touristy Chinese theme, rather than the flourishing Chinese American community it had been seventy years ago.
