C'etait l'époque du vrai cinema avec des vrais comédiens. Pas d'effets spéciaux mais des jeux d'acteur poignant, humain. Ça me rappelle mes grands parents, j'étais enfant dans les annees 70 et nous regardions FR3. Parmis l'un des hommes qui se trouvent en bas de l'immeuble, il y a Bernard Blier dont je suis fan 😊🙏🎉🎉

I've always loved how Malick captured the flavors of this scene... tap dancing on a simple sheet of wood, with all the dust being kicked up by the flashing feet...
I just watched the complete restored version.No subtitles,but it was sooooooooo satisfying!This is what makes early french cinemea so unique.Quality,sound,expression-so,NO-I don't need the english subtitles.
Thank you, sir for such a comment. It was the real France. My grandparents lived the 1st and and 2nd war, it was very hard. They gave me so much love and the only real entertainment they could get before and after this painful time was the cinema. My granny had 2 female heroines: Arletty and Edith Piaf. And for my grandfa there was no better than Louis Jouvet and Charlie Chaplin. Thank you for loving our culture.

Wonderful to see such joyous, enthusiastic tap dancing from a "portly" performer, rather than lithe, rail-thin folks like Fred Astaire... your uncle did a nice number in the 1977 movie "Minstrel Man" also. But this scene from "Days of Heaven" is perfection. It always brings a smile to my face...

Just saw your comment- I worked at the VARIETY ARTS CENTER in Los Angeles in the mid eighties. Gene used to perform there! I loved Gene and Lupe so much that I made a short documentary- including interviews and a live performance. I gave a videotape copy to them back in 86. I can’t find my copy- please tell me that it still exists! I would love to see it again! Thanks
