EMMA DARK is an award-winning filmmaker, and actress. Deeply passionate about film she began her narrative filmmaking career in 2014, debuting at festivals with horror/action short "Seize the Night" (2015), featuring Anthony Ilott (Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort), with fight choreography by Roy Scammell (Alien, A Clockwork Orange).
Her second festival short, sci-fi/horror "Salient Minus Ten" (2017), received its premiere at Cineworld Leicester Square as part of the British Horror Film Festival, and stars "Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back" actor Alan Austen in the lead role, with cinematography from internationally renowned DoP Philip Bloom.
Accolades include winning Starburst Magazine's MediaCity Film Festival 2018 "Best Director" award, the YFIFF 2018 "Albert Pyun Inspiration Award", the YFIFF 2015 "Rising Star" award, the Stormy Weather 2017 "Outstanding Female Filmmaker" award, and the Stormy Weather 2019 "Best Editing" award.

THE BEACH // iPhone 4K Test Footage
Exploring handheld camera movements and capturing water, nature and beach scenes using a waterproof case. They came out rather nicely so I’ve edited them together into a short portfolio piece.
Shot entirely handheld in 4K on an iPhone XS at 24 frames per second at Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes, Cornwall. Additional stabilisation in post, edited in Adobe Premiere Pro 2024. Footage lightly corrected with Lumetri where necessary (but mostly leaving it as shot), colour graded with FilmConvert Nitrate, plus some additional softening for a more cinematic look.

This is the first thing I've ever seen by Emma Dark, and I've got to say it's up there with the best, from the on location filming, the chill of autumn air, the hauntingly beautiful music. I'll be keeping an eye out for more.

I truly value your support. Remember this film was shot by Emma. I was directed to perform the shots she was looking for. If you were to see the eqipment she was using, you'd be stunned how she got so many good shots, I was impressed and surprised. Her edit, with the colours and style make it a short film you can look at more than once and see different things. It also draws you in and 'leaves' you wanting more.
I loved each shot and angle and was enjoying being in that space. I want more-more-more! We need more Emma-ness in our lives. 😎

I enjoyed being part of this, it's really great to see the final production after a long period. The gnarled trees look great. I'm sure there was a little more madness shot, but this edit is great. It took a while to get the coat and shoes clean and seeing how mucky that woodland was, I'm surprised the coat survived.
