Voices-An Oral History of Anniston
With its roots as a “company town” founded by Sam Noble and Daniel Tyler in the 1870s, Anniston has a rich history, and at its core are the fascinating stories and memories of its people. The idea of compiling more than 51 hours of interviews captured over a year’s time from individuals ranging in age from 64 to 103 provides a unique perspective, capturing a broad range of experiences and stories.
This program was the result of an effort to carve out comments from those interviews and assemble them into a program that would outline the city’s fascinating history. Public Library of Anniston and Calhoun County - Audiobooks
It’s a ghetto now. Unfortunately
Anniston is on its way to becoming a movie studio city. What a gift. Congratulations Anniston!
I live in Anniston, it’s very sad that it seems to be steadily going down hill, I hope that it will start to grow and flourish again, but as of now I feel the best days might be behind us. We need better leadership in the government to help our city grow and become a place to be proud of.
Have you heard the news of Kat Williams’ land purchase to build a film studio?
Dr Caffey was my doctor! Lived on Elm St at the foot of Mtn and some Spears lived further up the street above the Constantine housing!! My father hauled the bricks that was used to build the buildings!! The two long white house were my father's! I lived there from birth until i was nine!! Dad traded those house for a farm few years later!!! I loved this Oral History of Anniston because I remember lot of the area and exactly what able Noble Street and the stores and the theaters Calhoun and Ritz!! Happy Times!!!!
Thank you to all the Researchers, producers, writers, directors, historians, photographers, videographers, sound & lighting techs, and volunteer interviews and interviewees, who all came together to create this phenomenal video production of Anniston, Alabama USA history. I believe that this should be required in all Alabama schools.
Dennis has any family member live on Elm St.?
My family is from Anniston and I spent my childhood there. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about Anniston’s history. Thanks for this excellent video!
Can you tell me more about it? I was born there and don’t know much about it
Thank you !
This project is a true gift to everybody who loves and is rooting for Anniston. Thank you so much for all the many hours that it certainly took to create this! It is a treasure.

It's easy to see how much you love books. Your enthusiasm is contagious. My husband and I need to read more and not so much Netflix. Watching you talk about books makes me want to read. You picked the right career.
Your good at this. You made me want to read "The Starless Sea" Now.
love it
I'm loving how creative this is. Great job!
editing is a little off, but awesome! wish I could have made it.

I don't know who these people are, but this definitely makes me want to visit my public library.
