Interesting. It seems the vocals are in the key of A# major, while the beat is in the key of A# minor. That is why it sounds somehow, but it works like a modal mixture. It might work better if the vocals was pitched up to C# and it becomes C# major. A# is the relative minor of the key of C# major. It should work better.
