We started off of Hwy79 to Indian Flats 9S05. The first 5 miles of the trail is paved up until you get to the Indian Flats campground ($12/night). After the campground 9S05 turns into a dirt road and starts to get fun. We went a week after a storm and it was nice and rutted with some off-camber spots. We came across a couple of fun water crossings throughout Indian Flats and a few puddles on Puerta La Cruz.
We didn’t air down and ran the majority of the trail in 2wd (kicked it into 4hi at one slippy water crossing but could have avoided with a better line).
Great beginner trail or quiet spot for a quick day trip.
