In this episode, we use a tube bender to form the main chassis so we can weld on the headtube and rear swing arm.

In this episode I go over some angle grinder basics and cut off the rear triangle from a donor bike. The parts get sand blasted and painted so it doesn't rust while I wait for the materials to arrive.
3d model to printable template

Very quick tutorial about how to create a template from a 3d model using Lightwave. I left out a few important details but this hopefully will give you a better understanding about my workflow. I use microsoft paint to print the oversized template on a regular home printer (8.5*11) there is a more complete step by step tutorial on my facebook group "velomobile builders"
You have done a great job, I really like your attention to detail, BUT that has to be the most ridiculous place to put the controller, anything you pick up on your tire ie. dirt, dust, water, mud, etc, is going to cover that pour controlller, .........well I hope you are not to far from home when it quits on you, but you got pedals.....lol......and you are going to happy you do. The pedal assist will be missed on the hills......ya, I've been there more than once. I know this is kind-a negative, but I really just think you should move the controller, maybe put it in a plexiglass 2nd. box........your craftmanship is superb as well as your attention to detail, I made this comment because I have made every mistake there is at least once while doing builds and designs of bikes and trikes.......(Always remember controllers hate water and so do Lithium-Ion batteries)

Yo man, can we see you riding it, please?
hello. you are going to post the last episode where he will finally go. It's a very interesting project. and also, what speed are you going to develop on it
How's it coming?
somewhere I saw a bike with the same frame, do not refresh it in your memory if you copied yours from another one. Either I'm being ridiculous with you
@@киос4 a lot of velomobiles share a similar concept maybe with a RWD. But as a stand alone frame, King cycle hachi was my inspiration
Building is great. Your editing is awful
Have ever put hinges on Trike bike to make foldable? I have a trike bike and want to make it foldable.
@@Hōkūleà-m5r yes. I actually found a free foldable bike that I removed the hinge and put it on one of my trikes. It works great, you just have to pay attention to the orientation of the hinge, so if the locking mechanism fails it won't fold onto itself mid ride.
@@bentBuilder Do you have a video on putting a hinge on a trike bike? I need my trike bike foldable to be able to put it in a car trunk when I get a ride.
Nice to meet you. I'm very interested. I'd like to see the whole bike. Also, please let me know if you have an account on Twitter or Instagram.
I love this bike
14:31 Human, are your eyes bulletproof glass? Please use safety glasses haha 🤪😜😜
6:53 Human, are your hands made of steel? Isn’t it hot?? lol 🤣🤣🤣
so cool!
It looks like you created it without designing the geometry, were you able to ride this cool "thing"? Or has it become funiture?
How so?
Can't say this not often enough. Wear safety goggles! (my father lost sight of 1 eye long ago, due to a flying metal particle of < 1 mm..)
I've liked the one-sided support beam idea when I saw it in another project. But you get on bikes from the right? That's unsual.
I think my logic behind getting on it from the right is because the kickstand causes the bike to lean to the left. So it has a more open and inviting appeal to it? Idk, it was my first one I've ever made and I didn't give it that much thought.
Sick build! Wondering how the steering and pedaling motion will feel since the whole crankset is going to swing with the front wheel if I understand your design correctly? Can’t wait to see it completed and rolling! New sub!
Lovely build, I am inspired to show mine. Ps. For the love of God lease buy an autodimming welding helmet it is very convinient and could saves your eyes, also very nasty radiation on you skin. I had my fair share of metal work injuries, they are all avoidable.
Vietoi muzikos dar paleistum makstes vibratuuori.....
Wowww
Great job, a lot of work to build, it should fun to ride and a conversation starter wherever you travel.
By the way “great work”….lol
Can you make a”recumbent mountain bike at around $800-1000 $ 2 1/2 “ steel tubes….frame only….wheel size 26-29”. Both front and back fully suspended (back and front).to accommodate fat tires …underseat stirring (preferable no links …just solid welts)….disk brakes…
Have you ever ridden an MBB recumbent? This seems very difficult to overcome. I'm worried that you won't be able to ride this as a FWD recumbent. I'm worried that it will became just a RWD e-motorcycle... You may risk yor life if you are not familiar with MBB. MBB low racer is very tricky at high speeds.
I think it the low speeds will be trickier, given the steering geomerty, but yea - the cockpit does not seem particularly suitable for an MBB, but given that you can use motor for high-torque effort it might just work.
@@Balorng If you are not trained with MBB, handle wobbles at high speed since your feet on the same moving front frame. This is very very scary.
Careful with the pulse MIG welding, it ends up creating a cold weld with many stress risers. Always best to run a continuous bead after tacking. Stoked to see you on RUclips and building cool stuff nonetheless!! Excited to see where this ends up 👍
That's a great point to make Chase! I think with the metal being so thin and me pulsing it while the previous puddle is still hot, I can get away with it. :Knock on wood: I know I'm getting full penetration but that doesn't mean stress cracks can't or haven't formed. Time will tell. Thanks for posting
thats not Pulse MIG which is a specific thing, it's more like continuous tacking. but you are right about it being a cold method that will have stress risers
На большой скорости покрышки могут увеличится в размерах и начать прорезать корпус контроллера. И да, вы часто носите шапочку с пропеллером ? :))
you think there will be so much speed. it seems to me that he will go no more than 30-40 km/h
I dont like the design and E assist motor so much. Would you try a Velomobile for the next project ?
It’s amazing) bro I’m want to make this , have you a draw , and parameters of tubes ?
If I remember, I'll upload the sketch I have with the dimensions on it. As for the tubes, I used 1.5" diameter .029" wall, 4130. I have a new carbon seat coming for it, but I went with a medium Thor sport seat
@@bentBuilderthanks, I saw sketch, But now I’m not understanding form and place of battery , which you will use
@@bentBuilder where will you upload it if it's not a secret
Now all you need is a fiber glass she'll to make it an aerodinamic bullet and you would finish the prototype that I had a dream about.
I just might have to do that.
this looks amazing, great job. i would absolutely like to ride it to see how it compares to my electric flevo bike. :)
seems really cool, but also really heavy
Thank you. I believe the frame weighs in at 10.8lbs (4.9kg). So that's what? 2-3x heavier than a regular bike frame? Total weight without batteries and with bags = 51lbs(23.1kg)
yeah its hard to eccelarate but also will keep up speed easier once it goes. better have few kilos more and be more sturdy and relaible
Muy linda,se ve rigida y veloz 👍
Beautiful frame design
this looks a bit like the pivot steering on a python, except the pivot point is not in line with your spine. might be tough to get it to turn. you sure you want the over seat steering though? edit: ah, i this it has positive caster, so it's more like a flevo or an airbike. i will follow your progress :)
Pivot is inline with spine. Steering is under the seat.
Damn! That bike look good 😍. Especially that shape of a frame in general.
El sábado empiezo a hacer lo para ir.asta.mi trabajo
Me encantó el diseño
salut ,400 euros par an pour l'eau
Will the boom adjustment fit a 36" xseam and the battery have enough juice to get me back and forth from where we build these?
first time seeing an electric assist python, i wonder how it will handle
There's a <2 inch trail if you follow the kingpin angle so unlike a python you'll get a caster effect.
@@bentBuilder thank you for the clarification, I thought it was a negative trail
Any updates? I found this today, and this is first time seeing this kind of approach, and i'm really curious.
Great video but seriously you need to employ more PPE when welding
Good job brother that so nice and amazing... I have too
did you give up the cargo bicycle build?
Amazing work, thanks.
If you could come up with a posative offset rim/wheel assembly, that could eliminate that "return to center" linkage system... Putting the center line of the rim/tire assembly in line with the kingpins of the axis's of the upper and lower, would do wonders of that.. But, those spooked rims will be costly though...Just a though... Either way, this was really neat seeing the action of it flexing.. Well done..
