Welcome to my channel!!! Here you can find videos of escalators, elevators, wheelchair lifts and many more vertical transportation. I have always been a huge elevator enthusiast since I was young. I mostly film elevators in California (particularly San Diego, Orange County and LA) but you can find some videos in other places. This one is probably my favorite on campus. I really like the Adams VR and traditional Mitsubishi floor passing chimes. Installed in 2005.

These are very smooth and well maintained and pack a rather nice motor going up. Installed in 1982. Modernized in 2017.

These elevators are AGSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! LOVE those chimes and the floor cancellation!!!:D These are so butter smooth and quick for 5 floors!!! Installed in February 2024. Speed: 350FPM Gearless Overhead Traction DiamondTrac MRL. Fixtures: Mitsubishi DiamondTrac Vanity/Newer Style. Floors Served: *1 thru 5.

This building used to be completely leased to Planet Home Loans and had a security console in the lobby. The building became repurposed over the past 5 years into multi-tenant office space. All aspects of the elevator remain original to install including the cab. Installed in 2001.

@@traction1519 Hopefully before too long they will. Elevators these days don't seem to impress me as much as older ones, yet I can't make a number of how many older elevators get modded in one year. Mitsubishis like this one make up for that, but the fact that there still aren't those in Wisconsin and other states is a crime in my book. As for Wisconsin, you'd think they'd install Mitsubishis in Milwaukee for starters.

@@traction1519 yeah, 4 or 5 original to when the mall was built. The old Robinsons-May (now Forever 21 and Gold’s Gym) has a freight, likely original to the store. Unfortunately it’s disabled.

One of the cars had a different buzz sound. I was able to check this place out when I visited one of the offices here. Definitely enjoyed riding these. How much FPM do u think these go?

I came here recently and this one also got Modernized by Schindler with Mad BS Moon too.
Also did this elevator receive a slap on mod with innovation universal in 2005, and modded to Otis in 2010?
@@elevatorsincity It was installed originally in 1987 with Innovation Universal and modded to OTIS in about 2010.

These are actually "limited" to 1800fpm but capable of over 2000fpm I have heard. The US Bank Tower is also 1800fpm and nowhere near as smooth, as they are a little shaky and remind me of the John Hancock tower elevators in Chicago which are also 1800fpm The same construction firm built this building as the newer WTC, and also uses 4' thick concrete/steel core walls but with extra elements to resist shaking from very big quakes, such as huge outriggers to minimize the sway at the top. Early designs of this building showed the building snaking in an 8.0 quake where the top of the tower is swaying in a way that would create up to 4G's of force, which will cause some furniture to fly and would throw occupants around as well, and they confirmed it would cause the core of the building to crack. This is why they redesigned it, and I can tell you they did not fuck around with this place just like US Bank Tower and both are definitely good places to be in huge quakes. I need to revisit this place.. it was last 2017 I was there. I see the skyline everyday when I drive down from the foothills towards work
@@SpiderCollector000 US Bank Tower is only 1400 actually. These used to go 1800 but were slowed down to 1600 due to a law in California passed that elevators cannot exceed speeds of 1600 feet per minute due to earthquake codes. 1600 is exceptionally quick given this is a hotel
@@traction1519 Bummer.. I wanted to go back and ride around quite a bit these elevators. I only went up and down once on them before leaving. 1600fpm is no joke, but they are so smooth and acceleration is gradual that its an elevator ride that even someone who is afraid of these things would be at ease. In 2017, these felt like they were the same speed as John Hancock at 1800fpm. The quake codes make no sense - slowing it down 200fpm make it no safer. I heard some inside info these are capable easily of 2000 plus fpm. I think Ill be doing date night and going back to the bar and a restaurant here at this hotel in the next couple weeks. The US Bank tower elevators gave me a little anxiety with the shaking and they need to redo them. They accelerate VERY fast, and felt like they matched these when I was there about 4 years ago to go on the sky slide, but that could have been because they speed up and slow down soooo quickly too!

This building since received major renovations, and is now 100% vacant to my knowledge. There are potential plans to convert the building to residential/hotel.

This hotel also has an hourly free shuttle bus between the hotel and the terminals at LAX Airport.
I stayed at this hotel in January 2023.
Sadly these things are now smart keyed.
