You and I is almost a completely different song than what’s on Sketches, both version are gorgeous, but this one from rarities is unreal.

Nice job. I only wish the vocals were clearer and more prominent in “ You and I” ( guitar version) instead of competing with the guitar (in the first verse especially and subsequent sections) as, no doubt, the guitar serves the voice and not the reverse. Great job though!

The Knitting Factory tracks are wonderful and especially in light of JB knowing Lou Reed and other notables were in the audience. Despite the pressure, which Jeff often even thrived from, he nailed it with extra bits to make it all the more unique and divine.

I saw Jeff play at a club in Boston in 1995 and signed up for his fan club. After he died I received a letter and a copy of one of his guitar pics in the mail from his mother thanking all his fans for their support. So sweet 🥲

Been a fan for a long, long time and recently started re-visiting his music. This is the first time I’ve ever heard this version of You and I. It’s heart breakingly beautiful. I miss Jeff so much.

Sketches for my sweetheart the drunk has consistently haunted my mind now for over ten years. What would of been, what the completion of unfinished work that already sounds perfect could have been. How the critics would of reviewed it and ultimately what videos of live performances from the record would have sounded like. So unfair that Tim’s lame ass got to put out 900 records and we only got one finished piece from the true genius. Rip to both though, both great in their own right. Jeff, though, was one out of a billion.
