I think most of us realize and understand that the common villain ideology is very flawed. They all think they've seen the truths of the World while everyone else remains blind. They all think that they alone can save humanity and change the World. However, Some villain lines and ideas do resonate in real life. There are a variety of saddening truths in the World that we choose to remain ignorant to be why stick out your own neck? It's much easier to just defer the problem or solution to the next person in the line. Someone else will solve the problem right? Too many people blindly assume that the system is all powerful, that in the end, justice will be served, that there is some almost divine level authority that ensures the system remains intact and true. The rules of so-called civilized society are only as enforced if the people in charge decide to enforce it. What we are witnessing here in America these last few years is a living example of all this. In reality, these evils have been going on since the dawn of man, but it's only in more recent years that people are becoming enlightened to the truths. The solutions proposed by these movie villains might not be what we need, but their view of the world is not far from the truth.

Only half right. Some villains are villains to satiate their sadistic desire to corrupt or destroy. No sad backstories, no traumatic experiences, just pure unadulterated satisfaction of acting on free will hence the reasons why we have the seven deadly sins.

Thanos was not right. He had unlimited power to do unlimited good and create unlimited resources and instead used it to destroy 50% of life in the universe. He was not just a horrible person, he was unimaginative.

A hero would sacrifice you to save the world. A villain would sacrifice the world to save you.

I have noticed that in all these movies, the hero represents the establishment/system/government, judicial system, or corporation, among others (a rigid, unstopabble force that knows no vulnerabilities), not us. On the other hand, the ordinary person is more likely to resonate with the villain's concerns. Even though we may not agree with what the villain is doing, more often than not we tend to understand why they are doing it and their justification. They question the establishment or system's status quo and provide both insightful and inciteful perspectives that often threaten the sustainability of the exclusive benefits enjoyed by the establishment and those in charge. Hence, wisdom, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence are go to characteristics for anyone looking to come up with a well written villain.

Intelligence, money, authority, whatever you call it, it's not power. And yes, it's not a privilege or a gift. It's an opportunity. The only true privilege is someone else willing to help you seize them. Rich people aren't privileged because they're rich or powerful. But because others has let them take it, and not taken it them selves.
