Not my best, not my worst with gusty winds and no gyro. I'm very impressed though with how well the airframe handles the wind. Yesterday's maiden and subsequent flights were about as perfect as I could have asked for, no trim and gobs of power which came in handy today. Definitely more videos with better flying to come!

      Hi! If your using the recommended power setup with the Avion escs it's a good setup. I built mine when the great planes motors were still available but the motors your using should be the equivalent. My recommendation of the 22x10 prop by xoar is definitely one thing you will want. I used hitec servos and in the elevator I used a D951tw digital. As I mentioned in the other post it needs to be a very hi torque servo. My setup used a powersafe receiver as I fly Spektrum, 20400T I believe is what's in mine. As for the landing gear motors they can be a little temperamental. I would recommend using a jp controller over the one that's supplied. It doesn't hurt to get an extra motor or two for back up although I've only had one fail in 3 years. I actually have one now thats a little intermittent that needs replaced. I ran 12s and I put the escs in the main fuse and ran long wires to the motors. That may seem counterintuitive but it makes more practical sense and the escs can handle it. Reach out if you need anything else 😊

      @@davidsnyder238 Thank you for your help! What is the part# Jp controller? I bought the SPMAR20410TS receiver and the SPMXAE1120HV ESC.I was going to use the A6320 servo for elevator. The motor wire from H&H will be $60.00 did you buy theirs or from another place like Lowes they have 25 feet for 17.00 dollars? What is your opinion of the light set Lightersiderc is using? Iam old and just started flying 3 years ago. Iam not a very good pilot but I love to fly, I wanted a big plane hoping this one will be okay for me.

    • @davidsnyder238
      @davidsnyder238 16 дней назад

      @@edwinmclean2591 I would highly recommend using a higher end servo other than the Spektrum for the elevator. The torque specs even though they are recommended really aren't enough. I used 10 gauge wire That I had bought from Amazon, your going to need at least 24' and it would be good if you had a little extra. You will also need I believe 3.5mm make and female bullet connectors, roughly 12 male and 12 female if I remember correctly since you will want to be able to disconnect the booms from the wings wich mean you need to be able to disconnect the motor wires. I created extensions from the motors into the booms then ran the wires from the esc's in the fuse through the main wing and then they could be connected and disconnected to the booms for transport. As for the part number for the JP controller you will have to buy that from JP or another distributor as Horizon does not sell them. The light set that lighterside is using is top of the line. Im sure there are alternatives although I have not looked into them. I dont have lights in mine so I havent researched them.

      Our club field is on the back of a landfill. Ironically I have more airspace when I fly from home at the carrier, of course I only have 150' of runway at home vs 600 at our club field!

    Where does a man get HSD these days

    • @davidsnyder238
      @davidsnyder238 3 месяца назад

      HSD USA, XSRC jets, and if you don't mind waiting a bit Turbines rc has them overseas. The two US sources gave been low or out of edf stock for a bit but I recently had a great talk with the owner and found out there's new stuff coming, new jets, and stock. It's just taking a bit. Turbines RC still had some T33s in stock in case that's what you're looking for buddy!

      Thanks Bill, it's been a minute since we did this. Big T-28 made it easy. There are a few planes and even jets I'd do this challenge with if Jeff ever did it again. Thanks my friend for checking it out! Happy 4th!

      This jet you would spend your money and never stop flying. It's ridiculous how well it flies out of the box, I wish you could see it in person. The little I can show doesn't do it justice.

    Hey David, what a beautiful plane and is a beast with that power system in it! Excellent flying with evasive maneuvers and an Immelmann maneuver thrown in with a lot of triple A coming up lol! Great job my friend! Thumbs up!

      Thanks Fred! That HSD fan is really impressive. I can't get over the performance. It's hard to see in the video but the vertical performance is off the chart. Gotta love qualification day when getting video taken lol! Adds to the effect!

    • @davidsnyder238
      @davidsnyder238 3 месяца назад

      Thanks Don! Since this is the HSD it's the stock setup, HSD 650kv 120mm fan and 160kv esc. The jet is 67" span. It's a great size!

      Just a few little things but this has definitely been one of my best out of the box experiences with any jet or company. I have other HSD planes but as far as jets this thing is just next level Tim.
