Jack Dempsey's style back then was new to the boxing at their time, it was aggressive and hard to follow because of the weaving and bobbing of his head compared to the traditional punch and wait because they prioritized safety more than ever. But when he fought Gene Tunney to protect his record, he lost dramatically because Gene Tunney reviewed Jack Dempsey's style countless times prior to the fight until got the rhythm that defeated Jack Dempsey. Jack Dempsey and Gene Tunney fought again for the title just months after but Jack Dempsey got his title stolen from him when he knocked Gene Tunney the first time. When Jack Dempsey knocked Gene Tunney, apparently the count took 15 seconds because when Gene Tunney got downed the ref didn't count him immediately because he forced Jack Dempsey to go back to his neutral corner which took the ref 5 seconds and then he started counting when Gene Tunney was starting to get up costing Jack Dempsey on his supposed to be victory. Critiques went hard on this unfair supervising of the ref because at that time Jack Dempsey was supposed to win. Either ways, after that fight, all the respect of the people came back to him and eventually he pioneered the aggressive and rough boxing that we all know today. Not only did Jack Dempsey invent Dempsey Roll, he also pioneered the boxing we all know and recognize today. But props to Gene Tunney too on showing the results that he worked hard for in their first fight, because it was the first time that the impenetrable offensive and defensive style dempsey roll was countered and defeated.

Fact : admit it or not , Eagle had more potential than takamura in this fight .Eagle was fighting gentle , where as takamura even cheated once (headbutts are not allowed in hand to hand boxing) , which basically turned the table .Otherwise Eagle was a clean winner .Plus eagle could have damaged Takamura's left eye completely by attacking on it from the start but he avoided it and used the body .Secondly , they both were almost matched until the writer's plot armor helped Takamura , otherwise how is it logically possible to fight being completely blind ? Just by imaging someone else? How is it possible when he wasn't able to see anything accept eagle's feats ? It could be more logical if they could have shown some motivational aspects behind his victory just like it happened in the hawk vs takamura fight .While ,this doesn't make any sense , Trust me or not it was a complete plot armor , How many of you agree ?

I think Eagle should make a return and advice Ippo.The recent chapter during Ippo's retirement saga says that to get to the world stage, Ippo must cross the line and embrace his animalistic instinct but Eagle accomplished that through being a genius of hardwork
