4K This is Where I'll Ride if I Want to CYCLE the BEST Trail in Ontario, CANADA! | Caledon Trailway
In today's 4K Canada Travel Guide, we will cycle the Caledon Trailway, one of the most popular trails in Ontario and Canada. We will begin at the start of the trail in Terra Cotta, Caledon and end in Tottenham in New Tecumseth. The entire trail is about 35 kms long one way. It used to be an abandoned rail line built in 1877. It has become very popular because it is well maintained and the terrain is mostly crushed limestone which makes it very ideal for gravel bike riding. Also, there are a lot of tree-lined stretches that cut through farm country with many vistas to take in including fields, farms, wetlands, country homes, neighborhood backyards and a variety of wildlife such as herons, ...

    You answered their questions wrong . They start you off with a few questions , anything sounds out of place you get more questions . She was very professional . Take head coverings off , remove sun glasses . Have passports for all occupants in your hand and give them to the guard . Dont ask questions just answer what you are asked . Remember they are protecting their country

    Just passed through a few days ago for my first time. From US to CA first time. I was asked a few questions by CBP (they guy was FANTASTIC btw) and I was on my way in about 45 seconds. Biggest thing he asked is of my CAD equivalent was more than $1000 USD, of which I had $1060 USD. He said "Good on you, Welcome to Canada".

    The parks were very nice, I loved the care that goes into the flowers and grounds, beautiful. Alderlea was a gorgeous place, their grounds were beautiful. What is Alderlea, you didn't stop to let me read the history. Nice walk in the old part of town, thank you. Oh, I loved the walk thru Vivian Lane too, and the petunia pots.

    • @canadatravelguide
      @canadatravelguide Месяц назад

      Thank you for your support of the channel. Glad that you liked the video. Here’s a brief history of Alderlea - “Alderlea, meaning meadow of Alder trees, was constructed circa 1867 for Kenneth Chisholm, businessman, political figure and son-in-law of John Elliott, a founding father of Brampton. Designed as an Italianate villa, Alderlea is one of Ontario's finest examples of this architectural style. The original grand eur of the estate included a large front lawn and garden, which is now Gage Park, Brampton's first municipal park. Following the economic depression of the 1890s, the grounds of Alderlea and the adjacent Elliott estate were put up for sale. In 1944, the Royal Canadian Legion purchased Alderlea, which they expanded in 1947 with a two-storey addition called "Memorial Hall" to accommodate soldiers returning home from service in World War II. The City of Brampton purchased Alderlea as part of its sesquicentennial. The rejuvenation began in 2010, and involved selective demolition, heritage restoration, adaptive reuse, and a complementary addition. The main floor showcases eleven-foot ceilings, stunning decorative plasterwork, large wood moulding and trim, marble fireplaces, and a marvellous set of pocket doors with etched glass that allude to the opulence of the mansion's past. Many of these features were hidden under walls and ceilings for decades, like treasures waiting to be discovered. Alderlea stands as a monument to Brampton's heritage, showcases the successful blend of classic and contemporary, and exemplifies the City's commitment to cultural heritage conservation.”
