    just FYI....resting your rod on the rails of the boat is a classic way to have it snap in two. If you have a strong fish on like this you can fight it and bend the rod all day long with no issue but let it touch the rail and it will snap right where it touches....seen it many times before. What happens is the force on the rod gets focused on one tiny spot and starts cracking the carbon fiber and once that starts it creates a cascade fail and then SNAP

    Unfortunately i dont follow the rules cuz when they close things for recreational fisherman but allow the commercial fisherman to still harvest the fish i don't agree they catch way more than us recreational fisherman can keep so im a firm believer in filet n release fwc is retarded on there rules
