I don't hear Teeswater. They are on a different frequency.

The Wingham and Blyth repeaters work together but I'm not sure if their handheld radios go through the towers and sent back out. I have a good antenna now but some days, I get better reception than others.

Actually it shows a very effective interior fire attack. This is the result of effective two way communication and dissemination of accurate information. Which allowed for the correct tactical decisions made by Fire Command.

The actual video isn't the point. These are about the audio recordings of the fire departments' operations. I only throw video in when I have it.

My initial thoughts were they were bringing the patient up from the basement and something may have broken and could only "hold" their position until further help arrived. I live in an old house with tight corners and narrow doorways. When my roommate was having an issue, a stretcher wouldn't fit in the house so they used what I called a sling. It was like a hammock with several handles along the sides. Reminded me of a mountain rescue.

Look, I hate to be "that person". I know that bigger people have more medical issues, and that treating and moving them is a lot harder for you first responders. And I know that, in your line of work, dark humor and irreverence is used as a coping mechanism. I totally get that. And when you're talking to your buddies, there's nothing wrong with that. But when you're commenting on a public, world-wide forum like this, where anyone can read what you said, calling somebody a "big fatty" comes across as really nasty. There are a lot of reasons why someone may be big, some of them legit medical issues, as I'm sure you know. And you never know who might be reading your words. If they or their loved ones have had issues with morbid obesity, the words "big fatty" can come across as very uncaring and hurtful. Saying "very large person", for example, would've been much kinder, and would've gotten your point across just the same-but without sounding mean and crass. And that can reflect on you, Even if you're not really that way. I'm not mad. I'm just giving you a gentle reminder that words have power, and you should be careful in how you wield them. Thank you for being a first responder, and saving lives/helping people.

Referring to a structure, the alpha side is the front, then clockwise, the left is bravo, the back is charlie, and the right is delta. Referring to the firemen, I don't actually know. I believe it is a ranking system. In dogs, the alpha male is the boss, so I'm assuming the alpha fireman is above bravo, which is above charlie, which is above delta and golf. All of which would be below the chief and captain. When you hear, alpha delta plus 4, the alpha and delta refer to those specific firemen and plus 4 would mean 4 other lower ranked firemen/women (6 in total). Belted just means on board. That's my understanding of it. I have a friend in another fire department and he asked me about that too so I don't think all fire departments use this coding.

I have learned that ALPHA, BRAVO, CHARLIE, and DELTA are all Wingham captains, whereas ECHO, FOXTROT, GOLF, and HOTEL are Blyth captains. Each have several firefighters under them. Although I still don't know the meaning of Car 1, Car 2, Car 3, etc....

I was kind of thinking maybe it was a suicide. His wife stated he struggled daily to recognize he had people that loved him.

I've been thinking about getting one. I've used a fire extinguisher in the past. The powder is insane to clean up.
