We are David and Christy Trent, or, The Traveling Trents. We both have camped our entire lives, starting as kids then after marriage camping in a tent or the back of our pick up. We are now in our late 50s and early 60s and neither of us feels capable of sleeping on the floor of our truck. Now we glamp in our pull behind camper and absolutely love it. Our desire is to share that love with you.
Shawnee Ohio River State Park Campground and Marina
The Shawnee Ohio State Park Campground is one of the newest State Park Campgrounds in Ohio. There are 80 sites, and every site is full hook up. There is a kayak paddling loop, disc golf, multiple bike/walking trails, splash pad, marina, dog park, Storybook trail, river walk, and so much more.
We really enjoyed this campground and will be back!

Indian Lake Halloween campout 2023

Had another great year Halloween camping. We entered the Golf cart parade and decorated our golf cart as a Flintstone mobile. We won 1st place! Ohio Bigfoot Conference Salt Fork State Park Campground

We attended the 35th Annual Ohio Bigfoot Conference at Salt Fork State Park in May 2023. We camped at the Salt Fork State Park Campground. The conference was packed and had the state's biggest Bigfoot flea market. When we go camping we always try and get full hookup. But many state parks have very few full hookup sites and we usually end up with just electric. We both like long showers so we run out of water quickly. We even do military showers, but even then, we run out water within a few days. Camping over Memorial Day 2021 at Scioto Trails State Park Campground. The campground is only 40 campsites but nestled in scenic woods. The campground sits right next to Caldwell Lake. We camped at East Harbor Park Campground in September 2019. It's such a beautiful place for camping. Surrounding the campground are many hiking trails. We have owned 3 campers in the last 4 years. We started with a very small camper then bought a bit bigger and then a bit more big. We'd like to give you some tips for not making the same mistakes we made. We'll tell you what we love about the camper we have now and the things you should look for when buying a camper. Did you have cell phone service in the two campgrounds?
We really loved it. I loved the pollinator fields especially.
I live an hour from there. I played golf there for 30 years before it was closed. We’ve camped there twice now and have enjoyed both visits.
I wanted to go to it this year, but good luck getting tickets. I still may take a drive down with my brother and see what's open to the public as far as activities and such, but it almost looks like it'll just be a bunch of vendors. Maybe next year, but still, for all the YEARS I've lived in Ohio and have heard what an awesome park this is, shame on me as I have never been to it - only within about thirty miles for a family wedding twenty three years ago - and beautiful county down there. That sounds like as good a day to go as any unless it's going to be overly crowded. May 4th this year I guess. Can anyone tell me who may be reading this if it would even be worth driving down from Cleveland if it's going to be so crowded (again, two people with NO tickets for any speaking events) with the parking and all? Thanks in advance.
Your cart was awesome.. Very creative We were there the 3rd weekend and the wind and weather was awful. We spent so much time making decorations We couldn't even take but still a great weekend as always. Thankfully you didn't burn up over the stove and cart was fixed...
We put a lot of work into our costumes and cart but had a ball! I'm sorry the weather was so bad for you. Always a crap shoot in October with the weather. The fire incident was so scary!
It was impossible to get tickets. I agree they need to make the speakers more accessible to everyone. That part was disappointing for sure.
The speakers were fine. But whomever is running this shit show needs to be fired. Getting tickets for 2024 is ridiculous. The seating is so cramped that I had a womans hand on my crotch for an hour. Dont try to use the rest room or you lose your "VIP" $90 seat. The conference needs new leadership.
I'm sorry it turned out that way for you. I was disappointed we didn't tickets but maybe we didn't miss too much. But just being there was fun and I loved the hike we took.
I tried going this year but all the tickets are sold out. However, I did read about it and all I have read is how HORRIBLY it's run - at least in previous years. I wanted to go with my brother and MY FAULT; I didn't even know about it until a couple of weeks ago, and realized all the tickets were sold out a while ago. Again, my fault, but reading some of the comments on the FB page ...... sounds like a nightmare just trying to GET THROUGH to buy tickets. I'm surprised it's not done more professionally due to the OBVIOUS popularity of this.

Have you guys tried to book indian lake for the weekend of the 20th? We did and everything is booked up. We even called and they confirmed all booked up.. this is weird
We got online at 8 am on the 16th and booked it out from Monday October 16th to the following Monday. When we got on almost all of B was gone but we got some end spots. My brother in law called for his spot on the 16th and was on phone hold for 40 minutes! It's really hard to get spots any more. Try today for the 2nd week.
Might have to try the second week... We were in "D" section and hardly any trick or treaters.. Gonna try a different section this year. 👌
Were you there there first week this past year? We might try another section next year as well. It's always so windy next to the canal!
@christy trent no we were there the 2nd halloween weekend and yes the canal was really windy.. took us a day before we set up our decorations. We will not book that section again. Nice sites but yeah too windy.
We are going to try and book section B if we can not get that then section A..

Thanks for your review. We drove thru this campground last week on our way home from Kentucky, and we think we will camp there this spring. It sounds like a non holiday weekend would be the best. Are there any site numbers you recommend, or any you don't? Our camper is only 21 feet so it fits about anywhere.

Sorry to be so late in replying! Yes at our spot there was an area we could launch our kayak. A lot of the campsites are close to a canal and you can put in at different areas. There is also a kayak area close to the beach where you can launch. It's a great lake for kayaking.

Fellow Ohioan's here!! We absolutely LOVE indian lake. We tried to get into the park for Halloween, but it was full. We are looking forward to watching your other videos.
We try to get to Indian Lake for camping at least twice a year. This was our first Halloween campout at Indian Lake. We couldn't have asked for better weather and it was a lot of fun. Next year try to get your reservations 6 months to the day ahead for the Halloween campout, they go so fast!
