Sean Mann White Out SS World Champion Snow Goose Call
I finally ordered one ….I’ve wanted one for years I can’t wait to start learning it’s like a dream come true for me I have always been fascinated with these calls just never could afford one at such a young age
By any chance do you ship your calls
Wish they still had them hats
Great and highly useful information. Mahalo for sharing.
Great wealth of information! Mahalo for sharing!
Great tips, mahalo for sharing
Without question that sounds more like a real goose than any other short reed or flute
Great video 👍🏻
I hope it helps you! Thanks for your kind remarks!
RUclips has this video about 15% faster than the original. So everything is higher in pitch than it was, originally.
just purchased the xp-1 didnt understand how to use it until watching this. i actually sound like a goose for once lol
Thanks for your purchase! Sure glad the video helped you! Good hunting! Sean & Ian Mann
@seanmannoutdoors6902 hey Sean 1 more question as stated I'm new am I supposed to tune this call? If so how and why/what does tuning it do
@@tylerwinchell4467 If it sounds good, leave it alone. If some junk gets in it and it sounds bad, use this link ruclips.net/video/_-PRzhf5jWc/видео.html (tuning an eastern shoreman)
@@seanmannoutdoors6902 Thanks sean!!!
Jus bought one with black guts awesome call
What thickness is the latex?
I use Med/Heavy, Heavy, and Extra Heavy.
Thx Sean. Met you at GAOS Harrisburg today. I had the turned pen. Appreciate your time and personal instruction.
It was indeed my pleasure Rob! Remember, you have to play some Louis before you get to Maynard! Thanks for your kind words!
13 year ago I met Sean at bass pro and I had my coon hound with me. One of the greatest person and down to earth. Ever since than I only use his calls.
I’ve been blowing calls for many years and just can’t seem to get a nice cadence 🤦♂️. Wish I could blow a call anywhere close to this! Just bought a shorty so I’m practicing

Guys, you mention fog conditions and you have clients who want to hunt those days, in fog do you still set out a big spread of snow decoys or just minimal spread, and just rely on calling?
"Big Spread" is a relative term. What is big to one person is tiny to another. On a foggy day, I like to go small, about 200 decoys or less. I don't want to "decoy shock" the birds. Chris might get a chance to chime in as well, but he is awfully busy this time of year. Thanks for your question! Good Hunting! Sean
I won't set anything under 1300 decoys personally. 3300 being about "right" for the whole areas we hunt. On Fogg days we string our decoys much narrower but string them out longer and hunt the furthest downwind edge we can to bust em stopping short.
I’ve been watching RUclips videos all day working on blowing my call (first timer). This video took me from birthday party horn to sound 10x better and the consistency I was missing. Thank you sir!
My pleasure! Good Hunting!
Sean is no joke. No bullshit calling approach. After speaking to him, I realized i was calling wrong for a loooong time. His calls are very goosey and sound great when you work on using less air to call! A 30 minute conversation with him changed my approach to calling! Great dude and great calls.
Thanks for your kind remarks. Not calling wrong, necessarily. Most people are just taught to call by blocking the end of the call and planting their tongue "gruk, gruk ,gruk. That requires so much effort and greatly limits your ability to create multiples. Calling from the gut is a sham. Planting the tongue and going gruk, gruk ,gruk is a poor technique. It turns you into a 1 trick pony. I don't care who made the call you use, using the tip of your tongue as a pressure gate and air manipulator is the key to effortless calling. It opens the call up and helps you develop a vocabulary and produce multiples.
hes a one man ecaller
He certainly is! Two Time World Champ, pro guide and great guy to top it all off!
That's really excellent, and I didn't know how many of my harmonica playing techniques would be echoed here, maybe you are a natural harp player!
For years I avoided the Eastern Shoreman even though I am fairly local to the Eastern Shore and Sean is a Legend. I Got obsessed with calling geese at a very young age, never competed because terrible Stage freight that one day maybe Ill get over 😂. Either way still was always more attracted to flashy and more trendy call makers. After meeting Sean a few times at various shows/events I Finally in my late 20’s broke down and bought a flame maple shoreman. I was blown away by how amazing it sounds! Reminds me of a Les Paul right down to the Flame maple. Nothing sounds like a Shoreman period. I still can’t blow it as perfectly as some other calls, it’s Similar to a short reed but Unique in its own way. If I WAS a contest caller and practiced a lot more Im sure I could master it in that pushing it to the limits way as I can other calls. Where it really impresses me though is as a hunting call. Just learn how to honk on it thats all you need. It’s more goose in that single honk then most calls on the Market. I would recommend learning this call to anyone who just likes to kill geese. A little expensive but hey so are Les Pauls 😂. Owned mine for 8 or so years now and it’s litterly the only goose call I carry in the field.
Great video Sean! One of the best instructionals on the internet.
Thank you for posting this! The Eastern Shoreman was my first goose call 30 years ago, and still my favorite. It's nice to be reminded of the proper techniques. Do you have instructions on how to tune the Eastern Shoreman?
Here is the link for tuning the calls- ruclips.net/video/_-PRzhf5jWc/видео.html
SOUNDS LIKE A BABY RATTLE! HORRIBLE!
Merci'! Bon Chasse!
Ive watched alot of damn different videos from newer youtube guys. Ive tried different calls. Never was happy with my calling. 5 minutes into this video and everything started falling into place like you wouldnt believe. Makes me feel like an idiot for making everything harder on myself.
Very good video, gives a guy a lot of stuff to practice!
Sean makes a great call, has great customer service, and is super nice . . . He is the "Mann."
Thank you gentlemen, very nice vid and useful info 👍👍👍👍👍. I’v got my first goose call and there’s a pretty wide field for learning as I see.
Glad it is helpful! Listen to the birds and watch what they are doing. Good Luck!
I’ve been watching these types of videos and this has been the most helpful. Thank you for sharing this information
My pleasure! Hoping people will realize that planting the tongue, mandatory grunting and mandatory back pressuring a call to make it work are all just poor excuses for poor equipment. Calling should be as effortless as talking. Hoping to help many, many more callers. Thank you for your comment.
I've been looking for this for years! Wore the VHS out as a kid. Thank you
My pleasure!
Thank you Sean, no need to even practice a week. After seeing THIS video which laid it out so easily, your call came to life. Thanks again! Great video!
Hunter, I am happy it helps! Remember to stay in touch. I will help in any way I can!
Hunter, Believe it or not, once you really get comfortable on The Eastern Shoreman, and can do what you see/hear on the video, you will be able to operate short reed calls too. It all comes down to efficient air delivery. If you can control the delivery of your air, you can operate any call made. Also, have your brother try your Eastern Shoreman. No adjustments to the call, just try it as it is. I bet he can operate it. Please call Monday if you can! Sean
@@seanmannoutdoors6902 Alrighty I will! I brought it with me in my car today and practiced on my way to work - I'm getting the hang of it.
It sounds like you do two different come back calls. Maybe when I call on Monday you could walk me through on how to do the second one. It sounds really good when you do it
@@TheGravySluprinBaptist I sure will!
Love the videos Sean
Thanks Travis! I wish I could re-create the picture quality, but that was state of the art at the time we made them, and I can't make them HD retroactively.
SeanMannOutdoors~ this is amazingg view. 😮
Glad you like it!
This is such a great instructional video, and so easy to follow. Thank you so much for sharing and posting this.
My pleasure!
Great video. Thanks
Thanks! I hope it helps folks get their heads around these instruments.
Ohyea i forgot to add… i want to hear from the man himself,,,, the sweet talker or Shorty express, ??? Which has a deeper tone
The Sweet Talker Can be tuned to a deeper note than the Shorty. But you need to order it from our web site www.seanmann.com and put in your order notes- "tune deep". As you mentioned in your earlier comments, most short reeds are higher-pitched, which is what a lot of people like. I am happy to tune yours deeper. I like them deeper myself. Thanks for your interest!
I hope this call has a deeper sound then most short reed calls,,, i dont like the high pitched noise from the short reeds i got,,, im really considering ordering this call
Like the primos honky tonk Rich n tone goozilla,,,,, they both sound to high for my preference., so i got a primo flute and flambeau flute,, they sound so much deeper but limited
Peel off which of these two manks is designed for the middle distance
Sean you guys should send m calls to try out in the field and by the way I met you last year
I met you at the sports show last year in Harrisburg
And I bought a wing nuts goose call
@@owengoosehunterb6203 great! How is it working for you?
I like it is really good sound to it but I have a super shorty Xp and that sounds good to Sean keep it up
You can send the answer in Russian language
It is a full-range call. That means that you can get very loud if you want to, but can also make it very quiet for "finishing" work.
Peel this decoy loud or medium volume
Good calls
