This looks fun, I've already ordered my copy of the game. Sometimes it is easier to understand the nuances in the rules, if you see someone playing the game. Thank you for this playthrough!
Thank you for sharing. This was pretty impressive: 5:31
Super helpful to see it played, and just how easy it is to loose 😅
This is a fun and easy game to teach new gamers. Also no hate on the "I don't like Catan". I liked it but understand why others don't and have had some frustrating games with new gamers when the dice just don't roll well.
Fantastic Game, loved watching you play through it. Thanks!!!
I was wondering why this game was hyped up because even after listening to the 4 minute rules, I still was confused. This gameplay was a great way to explain to me the hype. Now my issue is if people I play with can catch up 🥲
I love this so much! Thank you! Hope to see you again soon!
I'm very disappointed : my edition came with the number die only and the cards have shapes on only one side ! Not cool !
Great video of a great game! I have never had a chance to play this yet, but it's definitely one I want to get on the table. Really enjoyed watching you playing Strike, thanks for posting!
YAY.... you're back! I thought you had disappeared, but if it takes five months to produce as good a video as this, then so be it! I've got this game on my shelf, but have yet to get the chance to get it on the table. However, I've watched a few videos about it, and know it's super fun, and you guys did a truly excellent job in both explaining how to play, and the the actual playthrough itself. I'm sorry, I'm useless at names, but the girl in the black cap... she isn't the only person in the world who doesn't like Catan, and I'm no fan of Ticket to Ride either. 😔 So anyway... first class video, totally enjoyed it and thanks so much for forty minutes of fun!
Thanks for the comments! Yes, we have not made many videos recently, but plan to have a new batch come out over summer. We should have some improvements in video and audio as well in the new ones. Thank you for watching, and have fun playing Flamme Rouge!
Great video guys! I've looked at this game quite a few times, but never knew enough about it to decide if I'd like it. Now I do know, so it'll be yet another addition to my wishlist, and hopefully I can find a copy at a reasonable price. Really enjoyed this one, thanks for posting.
I've just stumbled across your channel for the very first time, and it's an instant subscription! Excellent video; I love Take 5 - 6 Nimmt where I live - even if I'm totally useless at it, and you guys showed it at its very best. True, you made two errors in the last two rounds, but as I was sitting with a smile on my face for the duration of the video, I'll forgive you. 🤣 And just top top the whole thing off, what a super nice group of people too!
Hands down for Christmas...broken by Easter...
It’s amazing!
Awesome simple review .. thanks 😊
You have a disadvantage because you are reaching for the deck. You are allowed two draw piles. Smaller table would help. Thanks for the great explanation. Looks fun
Thank you so much for explaining Qwerkle. I am looking forward to playing with family and friends
негры
Qwirkle is easily played with two to six players. It's an inclusive game, no one needs to sit out because teams can be created. I❤Qwirkle!
YOU ARE WRONG. John Nash warned us all about people like you. GAME THEORY was to be taught BY HIM!!!
Kristen get the phone, it's me calling you. 🙂
Nobody said cab for taxi
They keep gifting that guy Qwirkles lol
Well hi there Kristen
You lost be at the point you said someone can stop you from elimination by agreeing to do everything they want for rest of game! Ridiculous either way, that person can never win unless they can lie about doi g what they are always told, in which case why save them ever! 😂
The agreements are not binding
Love kingdomino! Anything by Bruno Cathala is really good lol
Great job! Thank you for playing it all the way through!
Is vedio ki madad se khelne ka sahi tareeka pta chala. Thanks ❤️🇵🇰❤️
Best vedio👍
I HAD this game!
Isn't it more fun if you are able to choose whoever you want to pass the card to and not only go (counter)clockwise?
Yes, you can definitely play that way! We did it this way to keep it simpler for first time players.
OMG I had this game.. I LOVED it.. 😍😍
"Promo SM" 👍
Just bought this game to play with my English students in Japan. Ironic that it is called Hanabi, but my elementary students are going to be able to practice the use of "You have ___" and some colors and numbers. Thanks to your video, I was able to fill in the gaps in my knowledge of the rules after reading the Japanese instructions that came with the game. You are right that Hanabi means fireworks in Japanese. 花火 flower + fire = fireworks
No lie this is my 6 year old fav game. I put money she could whoop your backside lol
Best explanation of this game so far. Great great job
you played the second to last hand incorrectly 63 should have slotted behind the 57, not the 48.
You can select any card from your hand, but he is mostly correct in the order of situations. He just explained the forced capture rule last. 1. If it's higher than the last card in a row, it must go there. The 6th card forces you to take the row, leaving your card. 2. If it's higher than 2 or more rows, it must be placed next to the one with the least difference. Again, a 6th card forces capture. 3. You can try to choose a card that's lower than all rows, allowing you to capture one of your choice, but you're gambling that nobody plays an even lower card, which would instead create a new row you'd have to play on. Choosing to play low can be advantageous in taking fewer points.
Isn't this 6 nimmt? You can play any card you want, you don't have to play something that goes to existing row if you don't want to.
This is the english reprint of the game.
@@jamesburns6603 That doesn't matter, the rules are the same. You can play any card you want at any time
Thank you! Very helpful
Thank you! This was my favorite game as a child in the mid-1960’s!
Thank you. We’ll explained!!
do you think it's too early to try that with a 16 months old child?
You forgot about the joker cards...how many are there and what's their purpose? Cant remember? And just pulled out my old game to play...instructions missing...one of my sister's must have thrown it out😁😆😉 like 50 years ago.
Thanks for the comment Susan. The reason the jokers are not mentioned is that the joker card(s) and rules have changed over the years and there is no consistent joker rule. Our understanding is that in the original game, you scored the points indicated on the cards, so a pair of 7s are worth 7 points. In this original game there were two joker cards in the deck; a Positive One (Thumbs Up) and a Negative One (Thumbs Down). If you ended up with the Positive Joker, you got a bonus +10 points at the end of the game. If you ended up with the Negative Joker you lost 10 points (-10) from your point total. When the game was re-issued, the rules appear to have changed so that you score 1 point per pair no matter what numbers are on the pair, so a pair of 7s is just worth one point. In this new game there appears to only be one Joker, and this is worth two points if you have it at the end of the game. Again, we are not 100% about these joker details, so we did not include them in the video, but play with the joker(s) however you wish, so long as you have fun with the SLAM O MATIC!
@@acrosstheboardgamecafe3169 I have all the cards then. Just missing the instructions, and thought we played it that the joker could be matched with any card at any time to complete a pair, like a wild card so to say, and at the end it counted as 20 pts. But who knows?? Knowing us girls, we probably made up our own rules😉🤣. One thing I did notice on the bottom of the slapomatic it says C 1964 Ideal Toy Corp. Patent pending and over a little further the number 2? Next game me and the hubby are going to play is Hoppit! circa 1974. Got it for my birthday in 1975, and has everything....after I dust it off inside and out😉😊. Check that one out. It's kind of like checkers a bit.
Hi again Susan. Good news. We found a damaged original rule sheet from a 1964 version of the game, and while much was illegible, the sections on JOKERS and SCORING still were there. We have posted them here for you! FROM THE ORIGINAL 1964 RULE SHEET The Smiling Joker The Smiling Joker is used as a wild card. It can only be used once. For example the Good Joker and any numbered card are considered a pair and are place in that manner. The Sad Joker The Sad Joker is a penalty card and will cost the player valuable scoring points if caught with it at the end of the game. The only way a player can get rid of the sad joker is to have another player take it from their hand when forfeiting a card. Ending The Game The game is played until the last card is taken from the deck. The player taking the last card may complete their sets. Scoring At the end of the game the players total their scores by adding the face value of EACH of the cards the have set aside. The SMILING JOKER has a face value of 10 points. If a player is caught with cards in their hand at the end of the game they subtract the face value of those cards from their score. If a player is caught with the SAD JOKER they subtract 10 points from their score.
@@acrosstheboardgamecafe3169 Thanks so much!
I got this for Christmas in the late 60s.
Thank you for this video. I just snagged this game at a thrift store ($2!) and to my surprise all the pieces were in the box and the slam-o-matic is in working condition! The directions aren’t the greatest so this video was very helpful. Thanks again!
I have went here before. I like my character who was a rogue, and the one who was a cursed brother. I liked playing here, d&d is fun, and what I like about it is that, it’s a role playing game.
Any Phannies heres
YES
The last three board game's my buddies and I really enjoyed playing within the last eight or so years (as well with their expansion's) are: Ghostbusters: The board game Castle Panic Boss Monster I'm planning on picking up Hero Quest if I can find it
I never liked this stupid game. But, my little cousins used to play this game with a little boy next door that was extra “festive.” But, this game is a throwback and I appreciated the trip down memory lane, as it was very fun to see these old board games again.
