No it does not remain on after the car is turned off the kit turns off in 4 to 5 minutes secondly this uses wifi to cast the media as well as car play initially it connects with bluetooth the moment you step in the car and then it connects to phone wifi hence the wifi and bluetooth both needs to be turned on, works great with my Kia Seltos.
