I get confused here. The transient at the start of the kick is where all the high frequency of the kick lives. So surely that's the bit that doesn't conflict with the sub. Yet you let the sub return at the same time as the bass of the kick. Am I being dim or something. Thanks

Quick question: How would you go about doing this to creat a subbass that goes a long a sound that is just a sample and not something you used in a synth. Is there a good way to do that? Great video series btw. There's still so few quality DnB tutorials on youtube.

So I kept looking for another channels 'till I found this one. i actually read on sound on sound that if you layer 10 EQs with 650hz notched on the master makes boxy sounds smaller and tune becomes mint

Thanx for showing this. For years Ive never seperated my subs and i noticed that it was really hard to maintain consistent sub levels throughout my song across all my bass patches. Id have some areas where the sub would sound great but then other areas where it didnt have the same presence. The more bassline patches and variations i made throughout the song the more of a nightmare this became. Im going to start seperating my sub from now on!

One question. So the sub ducks when the transient comes in but won't the SUB PART of the kick still clash with the SUB Bass later on? Because the Sub of the kick comes after the transient and it shall mess up lower frequencies? Meaning wouldn't it be better to duck the sub for longer? I think way it's done in the video we will hear the transient cut through but the actual sub of the master won't gonna be clean. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It would be useful if you occasionally played the sound in-between updating the synth settings so that we can follow along more easily and hear how the sound progresses with each setting change.

I use cakewalk and free version of vital, is it fine or what daw and vst plugs you suggest for making good d&b! My budget is low. How do you know si much about mastering and other composing stuff? Learned by yourself or so you have some musical background?
