By the time it was coming close to fruition the navy and Ed Heineman knew this wasn't the aircraft the navy needed and its cancelation led directly to the Skyraider.
I forget where I first heard it, but “flying boats are the most faithful among all aircraft because both land and sea, and air, are their friends-the same cannot be said for most of their kin.”
I'd like one of these now as a recreational plane.
Had the honor of meeting this man today. Very kind and very humble
Why did noone try throwing it like a spear from up in a tree .. wait is that racist 😂😮
Going Postal.
4:34 The V-1650 Merlin produced around 1250HP at very short periods... It provided around 900HP for cruising. I don't know why the British numbers are over-exaggerated all the time. Never the less, it's only a 27Liter compared to the 33.9 Liter behemoth.
The Yak9-U came out in very late 1944, and wasn't in squadrons until early 1945... the base model Yak-9 was at Stalingrad...nice vid ruined by wonky facts..
Very Fokker G 1 -ish
I will always think of jagged alliance 2 when I think about this gun, and vice versa.
Just like today, things are greatly exaggerated. When loaded properly, the chance of a chain fire is limited, of course, in battle, the chances of someone loading correctly is severely limited as well. What is the main issues with this gun was that they were painful to shoot because of the cylinder gap which spewed out powder and metal fragments when you fired so unless you were wearing a long-sleeve shirt or a gauntlet on your left hand you tended to have a scorched forearm. Not to say that these didn't have issues, but the whole chain fire exploding in your hand thing was, yeah, not as big of a thing as what we hear today. The reason the military didn't want them was they were expensive, fragile, and complicated compared to a single shot Muzzleloader or even a breachloader and the military also didn't like the fact that they could fire multiple shots rapidly because there was a idea that their soldiers would go through their ammunition much quicker than necessary. That's why single-shot rifles were still being used up to World War 1 in most militaries.
“…Magraat is juggling d@#th-balls….”
You seen them You play them
Definitely a unique aircraft.
Any fighter with a canon is always going to be better (provided they share roughly similar performance).
*Cheap anti-tank weapon* “Shitotsubakurai” + a homeless child
Well done!! I always learn something new from you guys. Keep up the good work!!
Really great video. Thank you
The Medic from TF2
Saw this plane in godzilla movie and thought is this a real plane of just a movie plane
Jackson Ruth Moore George Johnson Mary
Maybe it wasn't a success, but it was a beautiful aircraft.
Really informative video. I enjoyed the no-nonsense/ sensationalism approach. Its a refreshing change from alot of the other postings on Y.T. The numbers comparison at the end gives much needed cold & hard information to evaluate the aircraft. Well done!
Whats interesting is some similarity to the 262. I think this was a test bed for 262 till they could get reliable jet engines
Also called toe poppers
This man came to my class with another medal of honor recipient today. (6 others came for different periods for humanities)
Why the narrator sounds like Luke from Modern Family? 🤔
I would have named that thing hummingbird
Amazing.
The type 91 is awesome. I bet a modern design would be extremely good
Pretty f’n wild aircraft design…
Thanks for educating me on this small submarine. Never knew about it. I can't believe that they convinced any Japanese sailors to consent to run the machine. Talk about claustrophobic! What a horrible experience. Bad idea. Thanks for your research.
Battlefield 5 players feel this
Ah yes the on Banzai Bomb on a stick
So...ground version of kamikazes?
Yes. They also had a frogman version. Sailors were to sit underwater off the invasion beached, and when the landing craft went over, slam the charge into the bottom of the hull.
Time to find a new cut g. Crooks retired that one.

The tactical tuna! Thats what ee used to call them back in the day, buut PSR's fish gun is absolute bop.
Amazing review and presentation of a historical event that needs to be remembered and men honored. Thank you for your efforts.
that's not a lynching that's just a murder with possible racial undertones (and i do mean possible it wouldn't be the first time someone left something to misdirect Barney and judge dingleberry!!) a lynching requires public outrage over a previous unanswered incident (such as a rape or string of thefts!) and that's not present here, the fact the note was written in pencil instead of ink tells me it was a spur of the moment afterthought and not a planned move. in a lynching they normally leave the biggest sign they can telling what they did to make sure any and all get the message!
@@keithmoore5306 I was teetering on whether to use “lynching” or not. Some sources did others didn’t. Thanks for staying with us Keith!
@@TiptonBros yeah i believe it some are race, power or virtue signaling obsessed and to those morons any black death other than natural causes in a white area back then is an automatic lynching!! and as long as your doing interesting stuff i'll be around!
Great video as usual. As one of the only black people in my town, it makes me wonder if we've had any similar events in our area and if that may be why.
i don't think this was a lynching it sounds more like a murder with an effort to misdirect the sheriff!
@@WynnofThule Thank you! I’ve lived in the area for twenty years and this was the first time hearing of it. I would wager that similar occurrences happens near you as well.
I pledge to eat my next turkey sandwich in vengeance.
An interesting moment in history. Very cool to see you had the chance to visit the relevant historical locations.
@@sinisterthoughts2896 Many thanks brother!

When you take out crime from true crime: Now it’s just “true”
Funny edit. Well done boys!!
That's crazy. I have been to my fair share of funerals and can picture this happening as not all bodies are equal in weight. I've seen a few Pall Bearers trip and fall down as they make their way to the hearst or graveside.
Some days just aren't worth getting out of bed for, sheesh!
An incredibly sad story. Thanks for memorializing these soldiers bravery.
An emotional story that needs to be told. Thank you for your time efforts and hard work.
