My house is right next to this pit, its alot of fun. My ttr125 doesnt do so well in the loose sand but the trails around it or as much fun!

Tachometer is way wrong I have that tachometer on a trx450er and it not supposed to shot up that fast when you rev it you might have to many wraps on the coil

im pulling around 9k rpm's on a milled flat head, hi comp head, full arc billet power plant, black mamba cam and 28lbv valve springs on chromoly valves, my idle absolutely eats this one up.. im going to have to get a mods list to confirm or deny that the tach's working as you say, sweet build though, love it

I go there all the time

All anyone has to do is look at the audio waveform and count the exhaust pulses. I did just that and confirmed that your engine idles at ~2,000rpm which also confirms that your tach is reading 2x actual. Furthermore, it indicates that your engine only idles at 1000rpm with the brake on, which ALSO indicates that your clutch adjustment is way off.

The tach might be set for 4cycle however these single cylinder engines fire every crank rotation as opposed to a regular engine that fires every other rotation. These fire on btdc of the compression and exhaust strokes. So your reading is 2x as high as it should be

besides a new airfilter and removing the fueltank what else did you do to the engine?

I dig your setup man but there was never 9000 RPM in this video. I keep seeing videos of supposed 8000-9000 rpm 212's but every one is like this, just running (not at the claimed rpm) and never on the track or road showing the tach reading the claimed rpm. So let's see that and I'll subscribe

I believe your tach is setup for a two cylinder so it is doubling your RPM reading. Go into the settings and correct it so people don't waste their time watching this crap.
