I went on testosterone replacement at age 40. The topical testosterone never did what it should. I'm 62, and the shots are the way to go. I give myself an injection every 4 days.

I think it's not so much 'doesn't have gender dysphoria' just 'you might not have the tools to spot it' it's not unlike how there are scientists on record who don't think that girls can get autism, when in reality it simply reveals itself differently. If you experience euphoria (joy) from transition, that likely means there was a lack of it (an 'un-joy' or dysphoria) that simply had gone unnoticed. The only holdup I have about outlining dysphoria, and this is a big one, is that allowing a third party to define it, which would give a lot of power to potentially unsavory or possibly malicious people. Ultimately, your medical decisions will be yours, and not mine, so what do any of our opinions matter anyways?

So I don't identify as trans, so I won't be be speaking on the person this video was made about. More so just giving a different perspective. I go by she/they, but I have struggled with my gender identify for years now, after some rather traumatizing events I am finally starting to find my way and find out who I truly am. Gender dysphoria is definitely not a requirement to be trans. All you need to be is that you identify as a different gender [not a choice still]. You can feel like a different gender without gender dysphoria…. Anyone is allowed to get HTR or trans surgeries , don’t gatekeep. People do have proof they’re trans by saying they don’t identify as their AGAB. You also forget about Jon binary people who are under the trans umbrella, a lot of non bianry people don’t have gender dysphoria, the same with xenogendered people [under non binary umbrella and in certain situations some people’s gender is just a xenogender and they can call themselves trans] lots of them don’t have gender dysphoria. i think even if you dont have gender dysphoria, you at least need a sense of gender *euphoria* to be trans. i know there are many people who identify as between genders or as multiple genders, so they might not feel discomfort presenting as their birth-sex. but even if you dont have that discomfort, you need to have some kind of feeling that tells you "im not the gender i was born as". otherwise, why the heck would you put yourself through transitioning!!

I don't think there should be a requirement of having gender dysphoria to go through transition. I don't think I would give a f about your opinion when making this decision more than you considered mine doing yours. Ultimately it's everyone's own life and decisions, for which everyone can have their own reasons. None additional requirements beyond typical health related should be considered if you're an adult. We can contemplate the case with adolescents and children but the general rule stands.

I'm of mixed feelings here. On the one hand not everybody experiences gender dysphoria to the same degree. There are people who would benefit from transition at levels much less severe than "debilitating misery to the point of self harm". But at the same time, hearing people talk about being trans because they just "feel a little masculine/feminine sometimes" feels a bit galling. If "haunted" is not in your vocabulary when talking about gender, I don't think you really know the seriousness of what you're talking about.

Listen my man, denying that puberty blockers and cross sex hormones can have severe irreversible consequences for kids is not good fam. Let alone gender reassignment surgery. Also, the ability for a kid to make informed consent on the matter is severely low and they're ability to differentiate between gender dysphoria and gender non conforming behavior also comes into question. Therefore they can't give consent to a procedure that would have irreversible consequences. There is evidence of gender dysphoria going away in puberty, though of course how solid the actual rate stands at is unknown since some valid criticism has come of the sample of participants. Of course it doesn't mean it cannot persist. And to be clear, it's not like I'm advocating for every transgender child to be left to fate and let puberty pass without any sort of help or platform of support to lean on as they deal with these feelings. Because indeed, trans people are a community with a very high deletion rate and it's alarming. Also, I understand many trans kids (and adults) have co-ocurring psychiatric conditions like severe anxiety disorders, depression, clinical depression and some higher nuerodivergent rates among them. So I do see it as absolutely crucial that they can access proper psychotherapuetic and pyschiatric care from people specialized in dealing with this demographic and these conditions. Ignoring or suppressing these feelings are of course bad for the person who is feeling them and they shouldn't be cast aside for expressing them. Also I get it that usually when it does persist after puberty it amplifies in intensity and it's permanent; that much we can absolutely agree. So I understand if a young adult, ages preferably 20 and above that have a proper diagnosis of gender dysphoria and have access to transparent health facilities that provide ample information on the different procedures can undergo the surgery or hormone therapy to lead a new life. 1. You really should look up what puberty is. You can only go through the puberty of your natal sex. You've developed some of the secondary sex characters males. 2.
