hii! im a year late but if anyone could answer this question i would be so grateful since i havent seen anyone ask this. when should i book my trip? like how along ahead should i contact EF. im thinking about going summer 2025! thanks : )
I booked, I believe, 3 months in advanced. Some booked a year in advanced, i'm not sure when is too late, but i'm sure it doesn't hurt to ask.
thank you so much for this video! I'm currently thinking about going there for 4 weeks and this helped so much! Can I just ask if you can speak english to the host family you're staying with? I get its a lot of korean so you'll learn but if your korean isnt that good, will they still speak english instead?
also what time do you think is the best time to do it? like what month of the year
I heard some families don’t speak English at all
Hiya sorry for the late reply, I was lucky my host family spoke good english, some of them had been to America for a bit. But my other friends they did not have english speaking host families, they had to speak korean with them.
I feel early summer like June - July, its hot but there is lots to do. You have to be careful as Monsoon season in Korea is like July through the end of September so before July is a good bet. I heard it gets really bad like heavy rain and flooding happens.

Yes they are expensive, but quite good, to be honest they looked very trustworthy and thats what you want when you are leaving your country, to be in safe hands. Also thank you, i worked hard on my editing! PS sorry for the late reply.
How much spending money did you bring?
Sorry for the late reply, like £300 maybe, i cant remember. But Seoul was expensive, 100 for each week i believe because I wanted to bring souvenirs back.
Did you get a Korean SIM card or pocket wifi? I’m going soon and I’m wondering if I need either of those
Hiya, yes i got a Korean SIM card when i landed and went to the convenience store. My homestay sister helped me get it from i think it was called t mobile. its was a pink one.

Yeah, I think i stated it wrong the flight alone was like 900, then like 1,000 or 2,000 for course then like i brought 800 with me for spending... safe to say i was broke...
I love your freckles and you have the cutest smile!! Also, a small unsolicited suggestion: during the "quiet art time" make it cinematic with more cuts and intentional shots instead of it all being sped up. Picture studio vlog videos. Either way, I really enjoyed this video, can't wait to see future content!!

I’m not really too sure but I think there are more stuff in the summer. Because there are more students they open a second school in Seoul to help and the trips are pretty fun.

This was actually just the normal classes during our lunch break. Our teacher put on music whilst we were eating.

Im also going to do an EF language program but in Tokyo for 8 weeks and it was just nice seeing that someone else did a similar program and had a lot of fun, also I have to say this is one of the most well made vlogs I've ever seen.

I'm pretty sure nobody has said that Korean food is bad lol.
More along the lines that it looks bad. Some people are terrified to try other cultures food based in the looks and because they don’t know and aren’t used to the food that is it.

Thank you, I feel like I can hardly hear what a person is saying until I read the subtitles. Sometimes I’m not used to the accent so it’s hard to understand as well.
if you live in the residence hotel, are meals still included?
Hiya, I'm really not sure about residence hotel, as I lived in a homestay. Sorry I cant help, your best bet would be to ask EF through an email.

Your editing is absolutely amazing. I'm going to Seoul with EF for 2 weeks in August. I wanted to ask when did you go? Was it also in summer? What type of clothes do I have to take considering the weather?
I went in Late July - Aug in 2019 and yes it was in summer very hot. You are definitely gonna have to think about your clothing and dress for the heat. Even at night it’s hot. Bring cool pjs for the heat to sleep in. My problem was I needed a couple more clothes cuz you sweat a lot so maybe even wash some clothes there like I did. And also there are a TON of mosquitoes you will get bit up.
I'm going there for 4 weeks in august too , i'm stressed bcz i have a rly bad english and i've never spoke korean before xD

Are the EF courses mostly female-dominated? I would like to know if there is a good mix of females and males? Also what are the age range, do you think it will be fine for a 27 year old to do this? Thanks.
Yes, I would agree they were mainly female-dominated with maybe the age range 18 - 25 maybe. It was definitely a lot of under 25-year-old women. and 17/18-year-olds. It should be fine for you I would really worry about ages.

I get shy so it was a little hard but I made some friends that I still talk to now and have seen since even though they live in other countries.

Hi Moley! I am going to EF Seoul this summer and this video has cheered me up so much. I have been looking for EF student’s vlogs in Seoul and this has been the best so far. I wanted to say thank you because I have been a little scared because of the trip, like not getting along with the host family and that sort of things, but after watching your experience I feel less stressed about it! I am so excited to go and I am also looking forward to your second part of the vlog since I loved it so much, omg the editing and the pixel art you made was just amazing!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I too had that problem there was no documentation of past students time at EF. I hope your trip goes all good for you. If your host family isn't the best you can always tell EF when you get there and they can change your family for you so don't be too worried. Again thank you I loved drawing the art for this. <3

Yes it is only Korean lessons. It's not like a normal school with all academic subjects. Its only focus is on the Korean Language and Culture.

I took the general one because I wanted time to explore personally. My friend took intensive and I barley saw her because our schedules never synced up and she had so many lessons

Thanks so much for making this and sharing your experiences!! I'm going to EF Seoul in April 2022 for 2 weeks of my month long trip there (assuming things with COVID get better), and I can't wait! Your video makes me even more excited, and I can't wait to see more! Can I ask how old you were when you went and what was the general age range? I'm in my mid 20s so I imagine I'll probs be one of the older students there, and I'm cool with that, but still curious of what to expect.
OMG your gonna love it. It was so awesome. My friend went to the school for 2 weeks and then stayed for a week like how you are staying and she said she loved staying to solo travel and explore Korea so that’s a great idea. I wished i did that honestly. So I was in my late teens and TBH there wasn’t like a defined age group there. When I was in classes I saw adults 30+ and they were in the higher levels it seemed they had been in Ef for the summer or even year. Then most of the ppl in my class were like 16+, like 17 to 23. It kinda ranges tbh so you will definitely meet ppl your age. But the classes are mixed not set by age. I hope this helps you, if you have any more questions don’t be afraid to ask 🙂 Also I hope u enjoy your trip to Korea!!!
