That is a great home. It's a shame they ripped out all the original details. On looks like the second and third floor and try to modernize it with eighties, things people that don't know the value of what they have The rest of the house is outstanding. But you have gold lines in that area and mirrored blinds because of them of the type of people that live in that area and also it's only 675000 because it's a very unsafe neighborhood, mostly all black, lots of crime. I have friends that live in that area. It is not. A good area, especially at night time. You cannot walk around. That is why there's bars on the windows and doors, unfortunately, but if you want to live in that kind of community, that's why you could get it for a better price

This would cost $20 million or more in California. Stunning.

Love this house! Some of the newer mirrors are weird. Original woodwork, fireplaces and tile and the radiators!

I actually grew up around the corner from this house on Indiana Avenue. Most of our houses were comparable in features. I was blessed to grow up during a time when this was normal.

It's not in the greatest neighborhood. If there were more houses like that on the block then maybe. It's flanked by a few apartment buildings. The backyard leaves something to be desired. Way too many mirrors. Some of those bathrooms need to be changed. The house looks to be in stunning condition though. Stained glass, fireplaces, wood, doorknobs and details are amazing.

This house is a sole survivor. That street was once filled with houses just like it, but were torn down long ago. Makes me sad.

Beautiful house! My family and I could have destroyed that thing in one year…kids,dogs, grandkids…we would have wrecked that place! I always wonder how people keep homes like that in such immaculate condition….good that they did-hopefully the tradition continues! I would be so stressed to raise a family there and worry about trying to preserve all that gorgeous woodwork! We raised our kids in a three bedroom ranch that looks,even after the kids are grown and gone, like kids and dogs have run all over it. Every ding, dent and scratch tells a story though!

No matter how beautiful a house is, if the backyard is too tiny or there's no privacy, it would be a 👎 for me.

Old homes are made strong unlike the cheap homes you pay an arm and a leg for. It’s probably still on the market because not everyone want to share there home with spirits 😂 I grew up in my ancestors house that was built in 1880 and spirits don’t leave just because the people that passed away in it and gone did.

The house's next door are section 8 public housing.

That home is in pristine condition and there's no need to go to the gym with all of those stairs! That home was probably sold for about $3OK at the time it was built.

I miss Chicago, the Architecture is world class, when I was young and attended school downtown I honestly thought Chicago was just a big town, I guess because I knew it like the back of my hand and it was where my grandmother was raised. It took me moving to Atlanta to appreciate Chi-town.

Incredible that it's still standing considering that they intentionally destroyed a lot of these structures by the so-called Chicago "accidental" O'Leary's cow fires. smh It goes to show that "civilization" has actually devolved, not evolved over that last couple hundred years!!
