Joan Crawford symbolizes White folks and Christine represents Black folks and the denial of receiving anything in Joan's will represents Joan's selfishness & heartlessness evident in refusing to give ANYTHING of ANY Amount to make up for Christine's suffering at her hands. Christine having genuine love for the monster who brutalized her for many many years represents the Historical Amnesia & Stockholm's Syndrome that most Black folks have today.

There’s always three sides to every story. I don’t think Joan was a terrible person at heart, just had a bad childhood with an unstable mother. Joan was just as uneducated as she was growing up in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, but still an intelligent woman that spoke with a Mid-Atlantic accent. And yes, she worked for a shady theater owner that fired her in a nice way because of endless unsuccessful movies, she abused alcohol, married the CEO of Pepsi that died soon after marrying because his position killed him and they tried to kick her out, but she did an honorable thing substituting for Christina on her soap opera role in 1968 when she was recovering from appendicitis. But for Christina and Christopher being cut out of the will, I don’t know. Maybe it was an act of vengeance or she never had it updated after changing her mind.

Make this movie more accessible, I've seen it. Frequently replay parts of it. Johnny Depp is superb, great actor. My favourite actor. Brilliant performance by Samantha Morton too,.
