3SGE Beams swap Celica. Ep.23. Door handles / tail lights.
Back from the dead. I finally get back on the Celica build. Quick walk through on some other projects I have. I install the door handles that I got back from powder coat and finally get to use some parts that I've had for over 2yrs.

    That was an awesome burnout from the Malibu. I think you will need to rebuild the window regulator and install the rollers, bushings to keep everything in line. Once you replace them the window glass will sit into the channels properly.

    There's a two part epoxy that you get to make those lenses. You use the original to make a silicone mold, and then you pour the epoxy into that. ruclips.net/video/Pu1RTkWHA3o/видео.html I own one of the first Celicas (RA20) and I watched a guy make a video on this (different video) made lenses for the very first generation Celica. Between 3-D printing, epoxy, and casting, maybe we'll keep these cars running forever Is that car wrapped? It looks painted, but then when you install the door handle it looks like it's wrapped. Awesome project!

    ‼️Hopefully I can save someone else from ordering the wrong Steering Rack here. ‼️ The AW11 rack does NOT fit the Celica. The inner tie rods are much (nearly 2x) longer than the AE86. Techno Toy Tuning offers racks for both cars, so make sure you get the AE86 one if you’re using one of these in a Celica. I ordered the wrong one bc of this video 😢 Should have double checked! These racks are often out of stock, so instead of returning it for the correct one I’ll have to buy AE86 tie rods and swap them.

    • @Bye401K

      Had no problems with the AW11 man. I talked to them on the phone and they knew exactly what I needed for the build.

    • @zachosaurus
      @zachosaurus 5 месяцев назад

      @@Bye401KIt IS an AW11 steering rack, but the tie rod ends are different for the AE86. I think the confusion comes from how they have them listed on their site vs what they communicated to you over the phone. The “AE86 Steering Rack” as they have it listed is just an AW11 rack with AE86 inner tie rod ends. I should have just called them like you did instead of ordering off their site. Did you have any issues with the passenger side bushing going over the taper on the steering rack? I just got my crossmember from excessive and the mounts for the steering rack are about half an inch too close together. Half the bushing fits on the narrow section of the rack and half goes up into the wider part. I waited four weeks for this thing and might have to send it back 😞

    Looks like that toyheadauto front bar would fit a stock 18rc/rg or a 20/22r just fine. They are all rear sump. Currently I have zero front sway bar in #dalesdragon and so far I haven't really been upset with the handling. That's not to say it couldn't be better. I definitely need some RCAs to cut out the bump steer. Also I don't have enough power to worry about the rear end sliding around :D Hopefully I'll change that soon.

    I dunno man.. I’ve pulled 3 Celica motors and used the hoist to pop them out of the top with the trans every time. With the removable bar in front of the rad it’s pretty simple slide them out. Plus you are left with wheels that roll and turn! But this is an interesting method if you don’t have a hoist.. and if the crossmember is going to be replaced anyway.

    I'm more of a 'stock never goes out of style' kind of guy and definitely not a fan of screw-on fiberglass flares. But I do like that these are metal and I agree that the crease around the arch gives them more of an OEM feel than most flares. I recently watched Sarah-N-Tuned put flares on a 1974 2UZ Celica coupe and it didn't bother me because coupe. But watching a Celica Liftback have the fenders cut was hard to watch. :) Do you plan to bodywork these and hide the screws or keep the bolt on look?

    Your fiberglass bumpers are much better quality than the ones I had. I got tired of fighting the fitment and ended up buying some real ones. It's hard to get the front bumper fillers to fit perfect since they are for the crash bumpers that came on the car. I've got a set of RA25 bumper fillers and they have a lip that the bumper rests in to fill the gap. I'm currently using the same fillers you are and my bumper sits right over the beveled edge. With all that being said, fitting the front end on these cars is a major headache and you did a great job.

      I have also read a few places that the normal strut towers are usually not strong enough to take the spring and shock loads (coilover). Normally the spring load is further back and distributed more evenly on the chassis between the shock and spring. However I have also see people do the coilover conversion without reinforcement as well, so maybe only really an issue when tracking the car or putting high loads on the suspension. Might be worth reading up a bit more on it to see who has actually had some failures and who hasn't had any issues. I kept the separated shock and spring setup in the read, but with the adjustable T3 KYB shocks and lowering springs.@@Bye401K
