Where is the love? Stellenbosch Campus
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.9 лет назад
This video is my experience of the WhereIsTheLove initiative. The initiative was started as a way to try and dispel some of the negativity which has been surrounding the campus for the last few weeks. Not everyone agreed with the event taking place, and felt that it undermined the feelings of the current time, but others felt that something needed to be done to ensure that people did not become...
Open Stellenbosch protest #Luister

Today I had the privilege of taking part in the #Luister protest which took place in Stellenbosch and was organised by Open Stellenbosch. The protest was organised after a video named Luister was released detailing racist incidents that happened on campus. 'Luister' is an Afrikaans word meaning listen. This is my account of what happened during the protest. Go watch Luister here: ruclips.net/vi...

Just an old time machine I inherited from my grandmas friend. Very accurate actually!
God bless you all and hallelujah
Lekker jumps boet. Hoe gaan dit nou? You haven't uploaded in a while.
I really wonder why something as amazing this didn’t go viral ❤️😭
Nice video Jo. Please be proud to enjoy Stellenbosch University and town! I am from Italy, I've been there on Dec.2017, very sure it is one of best places to live. And still wish to come there again...
What a wonderful video🌸✨
Shame oke - you could have consulted with a 2nd year BA English Studies student who would have helped you make this vid 20 times better!
This is an university in a country where less than 10 % of the people are white. How can all teammates be white without racist mechanisms working?
Electronic engineering doesn't have a lot of black students. Don't ask me why, all the other degrees it's very balanced. You also have to remember the fact that the western cape (where Stellenbosch is located ) Has more white people than other areas. So it makes sense that there are a lot of white folks. Here's my problem with your comment though, it's racist. If you said that about black people, you would be crucified.
lekker jumps boet ;) haha where exactly are these jumps?
Kinda late but they’re in stellenbosch
Great vid dude
Yoh hectic Lekker Jumps Boet

SNAP! This is AMAZEBALLS
"It's going to be noisy! It's going to be great!" Sounds like the opening to a prog rock concert. +1

So much for Equality...
Please use subtitles and skip to 7:30
Lekker Jon!!!
South Africa has been for a long time, a land of extremes. Racism, colorism and xenophobia are part of the daily life there. The 20 years that have gone by, ever since Apartheid was officially eradicated by laws, have changed a little, due to the fact that the social classes remain more or less the same. This means that the social class which was dominant before Apartheid remains the same. Thus Apartheid/racism can no more be enforced by law as such, but exists in a much more subtle way.
Thank you.
Nice one Mr. Keep on doing your work and be the force of change.
thanks so much, really enjoyed seeing the march from a students prospective
Read a great rebuttal by Rethabile Makoanyana on this #WhereIsTheLove hogwash www.mediaforjustice.net/dismantling-lekker-vibes-and-white-supremacy/
Ai. White people getting together to make each other feel better about Black people's lived experiences. Must be nice to be able to dismiss pain, institutionalized racism and systematic oppression with a simple hug....
thousand like , it exactly like in apartheid times people are choosing to be ignorant
So much love
Job well done thank you!
