Grasshopper: Using Graph Mapper to modify contour curves
Просмотров 7 тыс.6 лет назад
The Graph Mapper component transforms numeric input according to a mathematical function defined graphically through user interaction with the plot of a given function type. This can be used to modify curves by modifying curve division points according to the graph. New curves can then be interpolated through the modified points.

    I find that very instructive, Daniel. Thank you for sharing it. Did you model the 3D Potter extruder in CAD? And did you weigh it full? (It's pretty big, especially in height. It's a shame that type of design has to be about twice the height of the actual clay container!) And did you coordinate the speed the TCP moves at with the speed of extrusion? (I'd better stop there before asking too many questions).

    Can this translate well when i do the make2d command on it, or will some contour and shapes be hidden, if so is there a way to translate this shape on a 2d scale to work directly on it on illustrator

    Hi Daniel. I have a question for you about the thickness of the surface. I tried many times to get a thickness on a cylinder but Rhyno make two surfaces, one inside and the other outside the cylinder, I tried also to draw a cylinder section having a thickness and then using revolve but the thing didn't change too much. The reason for that is that I want to print some objects, like little tanks which must be empty inside, having a certain thickness, but it seems impossible. So, is there any way to make a cylinder, or a sphere, or a tank that are closed solid surfaces having a specified thickness without getting two different surfaces? Thanks, for your answer.

    if the upper surface and down surface is the same, why don't just use offsetsrf?

  • @wailamso964
    @wailamso964 3 года назад

    That is really useful! But is that possible to make the surface into solid wall?

    • @flymfull
      @flymfull 3 года назад

      You can then use the function "offset surface", ticking the option "solid" so that the wall outcome is made of one volume

    I think you can select trim, and choose all geometry as cutting, hit ok, then select anything you want to trim off. Like 2 trims at the same time.
