So yeah I work by myself in the garage with no records was wondering around tonight thinking about my Friend John Furbur. I have a lot of parts from the auction but it sucks ! I would rather be hanging out with him and seeing him sleeping on my couch

@willhudson5625 it is but did no prep on the track since it was just for cars and coffee everyone was having traction issues so I should have been faster.

@freebird1ification yes sir I am in Maryville Tennessee and do tons of work for people in the Vmax community. It's a hobby not a business so I am not always the fastest.

Great video Kyle. I run cop's because of the early hype. Leaving alone the performance stuff, I needed more room under the 'hood'. I will post a link to this video on my KZ1300 group because many of these old bikes come with cracked coils. You pal joker from Max Motorvation... Stan
can this be installed with the Factory Yamaha luggage? i have a 2020 GT model. it has this engine and chasis.
@fastbysal8797 2020 is different and I don't believe they make an exhaust like this for it
@crazyasscaptain same chasis and engine as the 2019 though. Only thing that would effect it is the bags. Might give it a go

Seem high humidity is bad on the max fuel system I need to pull my tank it’s not bad looking as that but I am also having carb problems with 2 fuel filters 1 extra after pump, what do I need to clean tank out I see some rust and black flakes
@RaymondWest-ck9li I use muriatic acid to clean mine and then you neutralize it with baking soda and water. If they don't look bad after that they are usually OK but these tanks really need to be kept full when stored so it does not leave room for condensation build up. Also the sensor needs to be taken out before cleaning and a block off plate made to go over the hole.

@pissedoffveteran7965 I am still working on organizing the back after my last auction purchase. I work completely by myself so not the fastest in the world with getting things cleaned up. I only work about 5 hours a day to do to my back being broken in 3 spots and having shoulder issues to .
@@crazyasscaptain I'm 64 myself and a disabled veteran so not the fastest either till I get on the Vmax, telephone poles look like a picket fence....lol.

@danwickey1111 Thank you ! I do not do that job super often and when I do one my video will probably be somewhat botched when I do unless I learn how to edit before then. I was not really happy with this video.

a previous owner or 2 painted scoops doing a terrible job, what do you think about sandblasting them with a medium grit media?
@pissedoffveteran7965 it would probably work but you would have to do a good bit of sanding to get them smooth. I think I would try some paint remover first.

Don’t see any foot pegs? Up here in NW Indiana. For 10 months to dissemble and put back together a valve lashing issue. A fun learning process regarding DOHC. I’ve hard the hard work smartly and replaced all seals and gaskets. What a great bike! Would you entertain a couple of questions? 1.) when reinstalling the chain tensioners I had to use the cam shaft bearing bolts to draw in the tensioners, then replaced with original bolts. Should it have been so difficult to reinstall the tensioners? 2) When I disassembled it I shorted out an auxiliary wire I added for battery charging. Now my startup is null, no indicator lights no fuel pump, etc. the battery is good, the 30 amp main fuse is good. No voltage going to key switch, no voltage going to main fuse. My rectifier passed the neg and positive bias test. So I jumperd power to main fuse and got indicator lights and the rest of the stuff to power up ; but not enough to turn over. Suggestions? Fuse link wire consealed? A relay bad? Thought to ask first. Much appreciated!

Ive been looking at that bike, and only live about 35 mins from there. Decided I didn't want another project. You got it at a pretty good though.
I would not have went after it if it would not have been for the wheels they are worth almost as much as I paid for the bike.
Excellent ....So where is the best place to get new spark plug wires? When I watched this I am now pretty sure why my 88 runs a little rough after washer her. Great video!
