I do love this arrangement Scott put together, it showcases all of them and has just the right amount of swag to balance artistry with being respectful of the anthem. They nail it (as they do!)

I really enjoyed the movie. They also had a smaller part in last year’s Candy Cane Lane. Recommend their cover of My Favorite Things.

The song was written by PTX for the movie...and PTX is IN the movie as themselves...and it's really funny.

Scott Hoying didn't do solo music until 2022, when he released an EP (Parallel) and did videos for most of them, some related to his wedding last year. "Mars" was the first single. He has released a few more since. If you like "swag Scott" check out "Flaunt It". And he and his co-arrangers got a Grammy nomination this year for the arrangement of his song "Rose Without the Thorns", the version featuring säje & Tonality.

A big part of the movie is about getting to a PTX concert, and they play a hilarious parody of themselves in it. It’s pretty cute. This is an original song for the movie. If you want to see how much they’ve matured, I would recommend their VEVO live performance of Kiss From A Rose. It’s excellent! Thank you Septo!!

PTX has recently signed with Universal Republic Records. The same label as Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Drake and numerous others. I don't know what this means for PTX in 2025, but it gives them very useful new resources.

Outstanding reaction! I think one of the biggest differences outside of Matt's amazing high note and Scott crushing that ending is Kevin. Him beatboxing the entirety of the song rather than the body percussion and stamp pad that he did during the original iteration is just awesome!

Busy year 2024 for PTX. Kirstie got married early part of the year, then Kevin welcomed a second child, Christian. Mat followed a month later when his wife gave birth to a girl and now Kirstie is pregnant with number 2.

PTX never disappoints. Awsome!

Thanks for your great reaction! You dissected and understood the importance of each member's contribution. The ending is like an orchestra with a conductor who has matured his members to where he trusts their free chaotic rein, but knows they will bring it safely home ... and that they did. Powerful! All great and yes I loved Mitch's new hallelujah run during Scott's amazing lofty soaring and each of their complementary parts. Kirstin's voice pierces the veil beautifully, and Kevin artfully punctuates, ebbs and crescendos the beats, then drops in to harmonize. Lastly, Matt worked it! Sometimes sustaining bass notes during others' solos or Scott's runs and other times bassing up and down the scale. A PTX masterpiece ...

So, Kevin doesn't cover bass. He beat boxes, and works very closely with the bass for the percussion, but when he sings, he's a tenor (higher pitch)

Scott arranged that whole thing! It's perfect! Also, have you checked out Scott's solo music he does? It's amazing! Also, Mitch has his solo music under the name Messer, which is so good too. And they both together have Superfruit. If you didn't know that already. 😊

I always love your reactions so much! I think you can relate when I say I feel compelled🎉 to watch every video I’m seeing for the first time five times in a row and keep my eyes on just one of them and focus on their timbre the whole time to appreciate everyone’s contributions and the complexity of the arrangement. The Pentatonix Paradox, always perfect, always getting even better.

Meet me next Christmas

They’ve always been great but they have gotten even better as times gone on. They all have good range but Scott’s range is crazy. He can do bass and go really high. I think as he’s gotten older, he’s grown even more confident and takes more risks. Especially in his solo work. But I see a difference in all of them. They’re all amazingly talented.
