MASON Cycles - The Wilding Ride
Togetherness. Community. Good food and drink. Fireside chat. Nature. Camping. Conservation. A sharing of knowledge and ideas. A celebration of riding and riders.
We wanted #TheWildingRide to include all these things, along with a celebration of our 10 year anniversary. It was a lofty ambition, but reflecting on the experiences of last weekend I really feel that we achieved our goals.
Thank you so much to all of you who joined us for this joyous event. It was something that I could only have dreamed of when we started the brand 10 years ago and a truly emotional moment for me, riding through the sunny countryside surrounded by so many happy MASON riders! Without you, we are nothing.

I love the SLR. It‘s a great looking bike! Can I run ist with 650b, too, like many randonneurs like to setup their bike?
We almost always build up SLRs with 700c, but yes, you could absolutely go for 650b. We would recommend a tyre around 47mm, to maintain overall diameter while preserving clearance.

How much weight can that fork take as far as luggage? Per side.
Hi @screamingsixties. There's a maximum load of 6kg per side, but always ensure the load is secure, with no loose straps.
The pump peg on a touring bike is so dumb. There’s co2 carts and digital battery powered tire inflaters now. While you’re at it put a downtube shifter boss on there. Frame builders can be so pretentious and snobby.
Hi @Oncesavedalwayssaved. SLR stands for Super Long Range. It's built for simplicity, longevity and independence. While CO2 cartridges run out of gas and electrical inflaters need power, a simple pump rarely fails. When we asked riders what they wanted in a long range tourer, they told us a pump peg was on the list. And it's our riders we listen to when designing bikes.
Oh, and, have you seen the chain pip? 😉

I love the versatility of my Exposure. I'm not really racing anymore and wanted to have one bike that I can keep for a really long time. I can set up this bike for a fast enough road ride, some pretty gnarly gravel, or a long bike packing trip. It does it all really well. And it's beautiful😄
After 6 years with my Definition, I can attest to the agility of the bike. I have ridden it in all types of weather and terrian. It's current set up is allroad with 35mm Vittoria Terreno Zero tires.
