Great video, very informative. You you have a record of the route (roads or bikeways) you used?
@@martymargatt6000 thank you.....no sorry, the kamoot app will take you on minor roads and national cycle route where's possible.
Ahhh, Thought about your task, very hard, but visually excellent, when you came to that "resovoir" you should have gone more east, as there is some sort of Public right of way path, not wild mountain like you experienced, and same path goes through forest too, although not straight but will go down fairly steeply, (I cannot say but I think you hit the actual path with that red sign?) chuck away apps get OS Maps. Congrats, you have just done one of the most obscure routes in North Wales, about 4.7 miles one way, well done that man.

Sorry you got a cold but the weather got better for you. The campsite near the trail looked good. I love the house of the dead, like a mini stone henge. Do you rate this walk? Are there many options for wild camping? I look forward to you returning to complete.
Thanks for watching, wild camping is plenty as there's lots of woodland walking. It's ok but not much views but nice to be relatively in the countryside so near to London.
This is a good watch and quite close to me so i should do it one day. Well done for completing the penine way, we just did it in summer. Happy hiking.

When I see trail walking/backpacking as an Olympic sport only then might I be impressed by the people boasting about how fast they have walked/run a trail. Thru walking is not a race but a life style activity the time it takes you is irrelevant imho! 😁
@@snowymatrix thanks Snowy yes we've all different mindset and I'm like you, enjoyment not a race 👍

Do you not thank people who stand aside for you and those who specifically who make an effort to control their dogs? It is something, along with a courtesy ring of my bell, I NEVER fail to do. Simple courtesy.
@@Biffo1262 I always say thank you, I'm not going to troll through this video to see where I potentially went wrong .....
Thanks for this --- I decided to walk Glyndwr's Way from Knighton-Mach next May based only on a feeling and a little bit of reading. I did the southern half of the Wye Valley Walk in 2022 and found it delightful. It surely doesn't look like you crossed many other's path on this walk - something I'm looking forward to! Thanks for pointing out the funky gates and detours, too. I'm a little nervous about that detour outside Dyliff! Fingers crossed for a little less rain than you had on this walk.....
@@debkakes thank you for commenting Deborah 👍
Good to be back watching one of yours Phil. I'm not sure why I never left a comment here. Anyhow, I agree some of the best scenery - I hiked a good stretch of this hiking the River Ithon from source. In fact, I spoke to that chap too over a cuppa tea and biscuits in the front of the cottage - very friendly. Great down below at Abbeycwmhir. I never knew there was a visitor centre. Well, a nice pitch and pints. Wow, what a dog. All the best. Mark

@@trailsandalesfromwales3074 A pleasure Phil. Yeah, I found that unusual too.
Loved this video and huge congratulations on a fantastic ride. This brings back a few memories. I did the official LLCR130 (Liverpool to Leeds) RUNNING race in August 2022. A continuous race. Finished in about 33 hours. Hardest thing I’ve ever done.
@@MrCol104 That was some achievement, thank you for your comment 👍
Stunning where that butt
What month is it in the video? It says this video was done 11 months ago, but it doesn't look at all like June.
Started in May I think
I walked the whole Owain Glyndwr's Way in June-July of 2000. While it does not go through any national parks or Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it takes you through quintessentially Welsh countryside (the scenery on the Heart of Wales rail line looked very much like that on Google Images), gives you the opportunity to mingle with Welsh people (which the Pembrokeshire Coast Path doesn't so much)) and lets you view the country's industrial heritage. This trail very much represents Wales.
love the place . atb
I get it 😀👍atb

Thank you Mark.....and all that 😅👍
What's the campsite you stayed at in barnoldswick and is it right by the canal?

Congratulations on finishing this hike and being able to put a check-mark next to it! What a shame that the weather and construction/detours pretty much ruined it for you. It would have been nice to actually "see" London! I also was wondering why it didn't stop at Tower Bridge. As for continuing to the North Sea, I wonder if it doesn't just get worse and swampy as well. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks I really enjoyed it,5 years ago this week as it happens.....
I am right with you on your fears for what the world will be like in 50 years (It's even changed a lot since you posted this video!) And I agree with your assessment of the horrendous buildings. Sigh. As you got closer to central London you mentioned seeing more people...did you feel threatened at all? I think big city, I think crime. Looking forward to the final leg. It is wonderful how technology helped you find that alternate room for two nights and helped you navigate---so I guess not all "progress" is as bad as I think. 🙂
Yes most definitely , can't say I remember now of the alternative room ,thank you for your support regardless 👍
