The four young men of the BRUCKNER QUARTET grew up playing together day in day out, before their individual careers took them to different places. Now they have found each other again to do what they love most: making music together.

Bavo Church in Raamsdonk. As we really love this piece, we saved this beautiful motet to be our last in the series. Since the start of the year, we somehow managed to record and shoot a video for you at the 1st of every month. Not always as easy as it seemed with very full and regularly changing schedules. A superb performance! Beautiful sound, perfect ensemble. Bruckner wrote "Locus iste" as a vocal quartet. I love how the piece resembles his orchestral works: great changes in dynamics, dramatic use of rests, and a reverential tone. My church choir director and I agreed that "Locus iste" and Mozart's "Ave verum corpus" are the best quality music in our choir repetoire. I always look forward to playing "Locus iste" in my trombone ensemble.

I was listening to the audio only and had to replay to see what kind of Contrabass was playing. To my surprise it was "just" a bass trombone.
