Well it’s difficult to say because I have only tried a Yamaha U3 briefly in a store and from a digital VST but not the same thing. And U3 is an upright piano and GX-2 a grand piano so very different sounds and most often a grand piano is preferred but for some types of music an upright could be better ☺️ One of the big reasons for my picking the GX-2 was because of the silent system that has almost no impact on the action while on a Yamaha it does and especially on an upright so that is what lead me going grand piano but of course also for the better action in general and amazing sound ☺️

@@Bobo I clicked on one of your vids and thought it was a U3 but now that I’ve watched a couple more I see you switched from a Yamaha keyboard to a Kawai K200. That’s kind of where I am in my musical journey now. I started playing in December 2023 and bought a good Roland keyboard. But I’m ready for an acoustic. And I’m trying to decide whether I should go with a K series upright or skip ahead and just get a Kawai grand. Either way I’d want one with the ATX system.

@@EP-336 that’s really amazing and yes ATX4 is the way to go if you want silent piano if you ask me. The Kawai K-300 is a great upright and the newer model have an upgraded action for faster repetition as well and I really liked its action. But yea a grand is always a grand 😁

I really like to just save the presets project as a new project so that I can create my own patterns from the preset kits. It’s a great way of learning the sounds and also the performance macros ☺️

Thank you so much! That is a Teenage Engineering TX-6 and it’s a 6 channel stereo battery powered mixer and usb audio interface. I use that to connect to my phone so I can record the audio while filming and it can also add some effects like delay and reverb ☺️

Ah! I realize holding down pitch on the Torso allows you to choose the sounds that live within each bank. Not sure if that's my only work around, using the Torso to pick sounds?

Oh a bit hard to answer since they are very different. But for melodic stuff the Metropolix is a lot more immediate but a lot more restrictive since it only has two lanes and kind of same notes in both while the T-1 can hade 16 independent tracks at the same time. I would probably get the T-1 if I could only have one ☺️

Oh alright. What made you choose this over a more designated midi sequencer like squarp, deluge, digitakt, etc…?

@@joeymc5272 i like sequencers a lot and I have a OXI One and a Torso T-1 and also have a Digitakt but none of them have the same immediate way of making melodic or even rhythmic sounds and it’s very satisfying using it. But I didn’t really know exactly what to expect when I bought it but was very intrigued from what I had seen on RUclips. And I’m not disappointed so far and I haven’t dig deep in what it can do yet 😄

@@Bobo Oh, I'm so sorry I didn't make myself clear 🙏. And thank you for replying... What I meant was, when using the preloaded single cycle waveforms. But from your reply can I conclude that it is possible to have a sound on digitakt as clean as on syntakt?.. I know eventually I will end up with both units, but I want to start out with the Digi-II not only because its the newer kid on the block..

@@GusAlZabri aha I see! 😄 Yes I think you can get clean sound from both of them. Syntakt might just be easier to get the synth sounds you like easier but the Digitakt II has more filters and I would probably also get the DTII first… it’s almost like a synth now as well 😄
