I am going on my first solo cruise on Windstar in 2025. Anybody have experience with Windstar?

I went whit the virtuosa the ship is beautiful when you get there but to big to many people the let you pay for everything. I went with Mein Schiff that’s a relax schip I love that more.

Again a great infomative video. Thank you . I have cruised with Celebrity when it was Chandris before Royal Caribbean bought it. Was wih Zenith and Horizon , but I have actually a cruised booked with them next year out of Athen . So that will be nice to try them again.. Going on Celebrity Ascent with a group of Friends. We are more like we cruise to cruise . Its all about ship and food in the first place and the destinations comes as it comes.

The excursions are very expensive, I am going May 2026, I will be taking trains and buses into the cities and wander around 😊

Had a wonderful cruise onboard Royal Viking Star in 1986 with my grandparents at age 14 then it took my 30 years again before I went onboard Hapag Lloyds Bremen it was 14 days . Juneau was great but I sure loved Tracy Arm as I consider the most beautiful fjord in Alaska.

Had a cruise around the British Isles on Fred Olsen Black Prince years back . Its just amazing , I really would love to go on Hebridean Princess it look just amazing. All this wonderful places.

I just love Geiranger in May. When you still have snow in the mountains blue sky and waterfalls. Its an amazing place. Just wondering when the cruise ships are not allowed from 2026 . Only 3 or 4 ships have been build who are allowed to go in the fjord. zero-emission cruise ships, packed with cutting-edge technology. Enormous battery packs, modern sails and integrated solar panels make it possible to sail the rough seas off the Norwegian coast fuelled by clean energy. Not many of them being buildt.

Unfortunatly I have when there was 2 mega ships with around 8000 people onboard. To stay in FLåm was just terrible. The worst is not the new large SHips but the old once who should be retired. Compared to the new ships the old one and their smoke its just awfull when a sky of smoke just hang over the fjord. Flåm is beautiful when its not crowded with tourists and you can just walk from the port and to the micro brewery. Amazing place to take some good beers.

Have had 2 wonderful Cruises to Antartica. One was with Roald Amundsen ( Hurtigruten) was amazing absolutley stunning. The Second Cruise what with Compagnie du Ponant. That cruise started in Buenos Aires and took us to Antartica, Queen Mauds Land, then crossing the Atlantic to Falklands and the highlight of the trip Tristan da Cunha , and ended in Cape Town. I only did this cruise for the Falkland and Tristan stops.

One of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Really love this cities absolute stunning cruise port.

If I had to choose Celebrity anytime. NCL is Norwegian only in its name. Lost all the Norwegian Inheritage. Tried them during Knut Kloster ownership and was not for me. To Crowded

Thank you for sharing. Suprised you didnt mention Hapag Lloyd Cruises. Travelled for the past 15 years with them. Also as a Norwegian prefer Seadram Yacth Club sine they are Norwegian owned. Did se Phoenix Seereisen only travelled onboard MS Deutschland when it was Peter Deilmann . Never cruised on the the large Mainstream Lines. Had my first cruise with Royal VIking Line and had a world cruise with them in 1996 on the Royal Viking Sun. The last cruise with them. Cruised Cunard but its to big for me. Prefer the smaller Europa II

NCL for me. I love the Breakaway and Breakaway Plus ships… Prima I didn’t like..

Size of the ship does matter. I liked Carnival's Triumph Class ships. At one time they were large ships. Then they became smaller ships. Now those ships were done over to fit more passengers. They didn't add any more room on the ship and they are overcrowded. Do like Holland America, but, they don't sail out of NYC anymore. Larger ships aren't being welcomed at many ports these days. Not a bar person. Smaller ships can pull into more isolated places. Larger ships can't go in and out of Montreal for example. Do like to go to New England/Canada. Never been to Montreal as yet. Big ships could also be from a refurbished ship. Except that they often don't make more room on the ship and it seems crowded.

Amazing ship and me and my family of 4 loved every minute. Great service all round. Booked again for next year

I did back to back cruises on Celebrity Millennium and NCL Epic back to back out of San Juan, PR in February 2023. Both cruises were first cruises on the respective lines Here are the things that I would note: 1) We were greeted by Celebrity staff and management upon entry to the ship; we were greeted by dozens of employees on the way to the room. On the Epic, we made it to the room and never talked to a single human. 2) The Muster drill on Celebrity took five minutes to watch and the staff at the muster station showed us how to do everything and answered all of our questions. NCL still had the in-person debacle and employees were screaming at the customers for almost 90 minutes. If we could have gotten off the ship and jumped on the RCCL cruise ship behind us, we would have. 3) The entertainment venues on the Epic were the same size as the Millennium, a ship half its size. You spent so much energy trying to get a seat. On X, the entertainment managers were making sure seating was going well. The staff on NCL was absent. It took us five attempts to get into the tiny comedy club because the first set of people would be "saving seats". 4) NCL oversold the ship and it was loaded with kids and I was tackled the first night. 5) The service was nearly flawless on X. The staff on NCL looked really unhappy to be there. And management had teh worst attitudes. 6) X will sit you with other cruisers so you can make friends. NCL refuses to do so. 7) The food is generally better across the board on X. Even the tint buffet in the Millenium offered more variety that the NCL buffet which has multiple stations of hamburgers, hot dogs, and pizza. The Millennium is the oldest and least featured ship for X. Epic is relatively new. Conclusion: My DW has told me that she would stay home than suffer through another NCL cruise. It joins Costa on our "no go" list.

You can't say it often enough: Wash your hands with soap and water, and do it frequently.

Tips start at 1:24 Also, on the tip to wash your hands at 4:50 - I've read that ONLY SOAP KILLS NOROVIRUS, the one that sickens so many cruisers. Hand sanitizer does not.
