"Shocking Truth: Did Jesus’ First Followers Really Believe He Was God?
Description:
Who was Jesus, really? This video takes a deep dive into Jesus’ identity through the lens of Islam, contrasting it with traditional Christian beliefs. We’ll explore what the Quran says about Jesus, and how historical perspectives align more closely with the Islamic view of Jesus as a prophet and servant of God, rather than a divine figure.
Through quotes from the Quran (Surah 4:171) and insights from scholars like Dr. James Tabor and Rabbi Tovia Singer, we’ll break down common misconceptions and theological debates, and show why understanding Jesus as a prophet can help bring us back to the pure monotheism he originally taught.

    Daniel 7:13-14 'talks abt the son of man being worship - Mark 2:28 Lord Jesus Himself said He is Lord of the Sabbath, this is exactly why the Messianic Jews see Jesus as God and worship Him, while absolutely no one believes in islam, mecca, kaaba, black stone or muhammed

    You have ignored what is in the Torah and the use of Elohim in Torah and writings and prophets. The God of Abraham Isaac Jacob appeared to them notably Abraham..visitor he called Lord judge of all the earth Then angel of the Lord who tells Jacob I am God you met in bethel. So the Lord God revealed himself...his glory But they refered to messengers as God...with authority and his name in them and spoke like God in first person. The messiah is a special messenger but not God . He is greater than all messengers by the following He is the one out of Judah who holds the law and the scepter..prophet and king To whom it belongs People gather to him In psalms he sits at God's right hand and is priest for ever like Melchizedek In Daniel he comes riding in the clouds to receive a kingdom and be served by all nations. Everlasting king on David's sit. Hence messiah is high exalted extolled Is with God

    1. In Mark chapter 2 Jesus claims to be God. 2. Paul’s theology is not about the divinity of Christ 3. The (apostolic) church fathers (disciples of Jesus’ disciples, like Ignatius, Irenaeus, …) in the first three centuries, wrote about the divinity of Jesus.

    Eventually, yes. Like His fate heading toward the cross, He gave them many hints and some direct instructions and it gradually sank in after a mixture of denial and slow learning. By the time of the first meeting after the Resurrection, they knew exactly who and what He was, according to Scripture. No, He was not substituted before He was killed, yes, He had a father. His conception was never about supernatural parthenogenesis.

    We can either accept the many prophets who were all accepted by the Jews and Christians and accept the many writings of the New Testament which fulfills those prophecies about the Messiah and were written by followers of Jesus who often did miracles themselves, or we can throw all that in the trash saying it was corrupted because some Arab 600 years later claimed he went into a cave alone and spoke to an angel who says the previous scriptures are unreliable. We even have non Biblical writings from Jews and Romans that support the crucifixion. Given that the Quran contains historic and scientific errors, it is more logical to reject Islam and embrace Judaism or Christianity. I love Muslims. I reject Islam.

    The idea that Jesus' teachings align more with Islam than Christianity isn't just historically flawed-it completely unravels when you apply even basic logic. First, let’s talk about the **Ebionites**-a fringe group that represented a sliver of early Christian thought. The **vast majority** of early Christians, including those closest to Jesus, believed in His **divinity** and His place in the **Trinity**. This wasn’t some "Pauline invention"-it’s right there in Jesus’ own words, claiming to be **one with God** (John 10:30). You can’t escape that without twisting history. Now, let’s dissect the claim that Islam somehow "rebirthed" early Christian beliefs. Islam **denies** everything central to Jesus' mission-the **Trinity**, His **divinity**, and even His crucifixion. So how can it be a continuation of His teachings? Jesus didn’t just submit to God; He **claimed to be God**. That’s not a small difference-it’s a fundamental contradiction that Islam can’t reconcile. But here’s the kicker: you’re placing your faith in a book that came **600 years later**, with no direct link to the events or people of Jesus' time. The Quran’s version of Jesus contradicts the earliest, most reliable **eyewitness accounts**. If your belief system rests on a version of events that directly opposes those who actually knew and walked with Jesus, what does that say about the foundation of your faith? How can you trust a source that arrives centuries later and rewrites the core narrative? You’re building your worldview on shaky ground. If your faith depends on dismissing the earliest testimonies and replacing them with a later account, it’s time to question whether you’re standing on truth or just holding onto a convenient story. How long before that story collapses under its own contradictions?

  • @HistoricBitss
    @HistoricBitss 6 дней назад

    You’re pointing out **John the Baptist’s** questioning of Jesus in **Matthew 11:2-3**, and you think this casts doubt on the consistency of the Bible. But let’s get real for a moment: does a single question from John, while he’s sitting in a prison cell awaiting execution, really undermine his entire faith or Jesus’ identity? John’s whole life had been dedicated to preparing the way for the Messiah. He had already declared, **“Behold, the Lamb of God”** (John 1:29). So, why the question later? Well, you and I both know that even the strongest believers-no matter the religion-face moments of doubt or need reassurance when things get dark. You’ve probably had times in your life where you questioned something you were certain about, not because it wasn’t true, but because of the circumstances you were in. That’s just human nature. John’s question wasn’t about abandoning his belief, it was about seeking reassurance. It’s natural, and rather than being a contradiction, it shows the **authenticity** of the narrative. Real people, facing real struggles, asking real questions-that’s something we can all relate to. Now, let’s talk about the trustworthiness of the Gospels versus the Quran. Here’s where the logic comes in. The Gospels were written **within decades** of Jesus’ life, by people who either knew Him directly or were connected to those who did. You’re comparing that to a text that came a full **600 years later**, written by someone who had no direct connection to the events or the people involved. Imagine someone trying to tell you about something that happened 600 years ago, without any direct evidence or eyewitnesses-would you seriously trust that more than the accounts written by people who were actually there or knew those who were? The Quran claims to offer the "true" version of events, but if you look at the facts, the historical gap is enormous. The early Christians who lived during or soon after Jesus’ time didn’t dispute His crucifixion or His identity as the Messiah. That narrative was solidified within a generation, supported by thousands of manuscripts, and the message spread across the known world. Why would you trust a version of the story that arrives centuries later, contradicting everything that was already established? Now, let’s get to the heart of it. **Both the Bible and the Quran** can’t be true if they contradict each other. They make different claims about Jesus, His identity, and His mission. So here’s my question to you: If both books claim to be divine truth, but one comes **600 years later** and completely contradicts the historical eyewitness accounts, doesn’t that raise serious questions about which one is more reliable? How do you reconcile that? So, let’s keep it real. Why trust a source written centuries later over the eyewitness testimonies? What makes the Quran more credible in your eyes when the historical evidence overwhelmingly supports the New Testament accounts? I’m genuinely curious-how do you work through that? Let’s have a real discussion here.

  • @HistoricBitss

    The claim that Paul wasn’t a true apostle or caused division falls apart under basic scrutiny. First, Paul didn’t "self-proclaim" his apostleship. His encounter with the risen Christ (Acts 9) was a direct commissioning by Jesus, and **both Peter and James**-the pillars of the Jerusalem church-**affirmed** his apostleship in Galatians 2:9. If Paul wasn’t legitimate, are you really prepared to say Peter and James got it wrong too? Second, your argument that Paul misinterpreted scripture, like in Galatians 3:13, shows a misunderstanding. Paul was explaining how Jesus’ death fulfilled the law, not that He was a criminal. This perfectly aligns with Jesus’ statement in Matthew 5:17 about fulfilling the law, not abolishing it. The so-called contradiction between Paul and Luke’s resurrection accounts is just a difference between summary and detail-nothing more. And leaning on Clementine literature, a non-canonical source with questionable origins, over the New Testament makes your argument even weaker. You dismiss Paul’s writings, but then trust a revelation that came 600 years later (the Quran), with no direct link to eyewitnesses or historical evidence. If you’re applying this logic, how can you justify dismissing Paul while accepting the Quran? It’s inconsistent reasoning at best.

    It's a choice you make. Being a Muslim. It's a choice you make, and no one should change that for you. Just like being a Christian doesn't mean being halfway in; it means being all in. If you want to be a Christian, then you should value it and live up to it. It's a personal decision and relationship that no one else should come between-you and Jesus. It's never fine to be halfway in as a Christian. The Bible even talks about it-He wants us to be either hot or cold, not lukewarm. I, myself, am a Christian. I have encountered God, I will live my life to honor Him, not the world. My life has been transformed and i will choose to reflect that in my daily life 100 percent. People in Islam can be halfway in, just as much as in Christianity or any religion. I have meet many people from both faiths who are 1/2 in trust me their are no perfect Muslims or Christians or any other religion. In my opinion, those who are halfway in don't actually believe in it or haven't made it a lifestyle and a relationship with God, so they won’t be fully devoted or want to follow their faith 100%. You need to understand that you can't be a perfect human being. You're young and may not fully understand what true faith means. I hope you find the peace you're looking for and realize that you will never be perfect. Being halfway committed isn’t an option in true faith. I think you might want to sit with your decision until it becomes 100% yours. Time isn't a bad thing, and who cares about your RUclips followers-it's about your faith and your eternity. So, if you need to think about whether you follow Islam or Christianity, give it time and reflect. Perhaps there’s an underlying reason why you can't make that full commitment yet.
