I have had cause to move abt during my time, I believe, do to something u mentioned in ur video: lack of any real opportunity. Williamsport, Lock Haven (due to the locks used in the Susquehanna River to move the ships), Liverpool (no NOT that one but a tribute), & Camp Hill, just to name a few. And plenty more moves that were in other states too. So I feel like I might have the authority to say with confidence that I agree with ur assessment of central PA & the reasons for it's low population density.

Just for the record, I live in upstate New York in Albany the capital. We don't want New York City in our state we want to give it to Jersey. Along with everything south of Yonkers including Staten Island. Their views down there don't match the views of most people of North. We would prefer to be considered New England.

The reason for why is no good jobs in this area. People would love to live there but move away because of lack of jobs.

After leaving the Mid-Hudson Valley in 1978, I was never inclined to return after experiencing several more desirable parts of the country. After the miserable weather (cold, icy winters and hot, sticky summers), the lack of decent highways was probably my biggest gripe. Having to pay too much to travel on the few and only decent interstate roads in the state was terrible.

While in NYC items like rent is more expensive, salaries also are higher than the rest of the state. For $3, you can ride the subway that takes you anywhere in the city vs. paying car insurance and maintenance. And no, Upstate NY is not less expensive than NYC. Food in NYC is not expensive (unless you are a tourist going to expensive places) it has so many bodegas with great and inexpensive foods. Moreover, Upstate NY will never have public transportation because the racist residents don't want other people going there.

I live more like South Western NY where I'm an hour between Elmira and Rochester. As time has gone on we have continously gotten more modern stuff like delivery app services, Uber, and fiber optic internet. Sure sometimes it's annoying to have to travel 20 minutes to a wal mart or something, but my rent is $675 for a 2 bedroom apartment. And seeing how much everybody else seems to pay around the country I'm definitely gonna sit my ass right here and continue to pay the little amount I do. Its pretty remote here but honestly I see that as a good thing. I live in one of the larger towns and our population is 5571 as of 2020.
