Big lead filled rubber hammer, and some heat brother, the minus of rim damage is that if you have that bad of a bend there could be micro cracks, small bends ok, big bend is not worth your safety unless you can verify using x-ray, or ultra sound to verify no cracks. The guy says to clearly listen for pops, this is a sure sign of a crack, you could weld it after repair, but why risk it scrap it... If you do welding on a rim it's a good idea to re-heat treat the rim and use a certified welder, some rims are so cheap they are pot metal to begin with... junk....

what do you do if the damage is in the front of the rim? or on a motorcycle rim?
