Should have never been paroled. Hijacking an airplane should get you life in prison.
Did Billy Birt ever kill anyone and put them in the "BOOT"of his car? He may have put him in a "TRUNK" Moy a boot! Lol
You know screw the gov, they screwed citizens Big time and still are, give Ukraine 50billion in tax payer money, and illegals billions in tax payer money, we must be paying to much in taxes I'd say 😢
What an amazing series and fascinating first hand account of US Russia relations in the Cold War. How is it possible this has such low engagement?
This Podcast was the best Ive ever heard. Its an instant classic. The Hoop Dreams of Podcasts. Great work!
I listened to this podcast like 2 years ago, and it saved my life!!!!! I hope the creator(s) see this message bc you have NO IDEA how you helped me thru one of the lowest periods in my life. THANK U
8:25 I was too little to remember everything that happened back then . My grandparents had a junkyard near homer, in banks co. They drank and sold white liquor.
I hope one day Stoney Birt i can meet you and talk with you
Sheriff Lee was a good man. Helped capture a dangerous criminal. Formed a close friendship with him and ministered to him. Snuck him off death row in the middle of the night to get baptized in church. Cried when recalling their relationship. Allowed him to visit the graves of his relatives. On his deathbed he got Billy off death row. An amazing man.
Ive lived in some back woods Georgia places, man theres some dark creepy places, but i guess every state has them.
IMO, Davis was a psychopath. Birt was a sociopath.
Stoney your a good man. God bless you and yours.
The absolute best podcast I’ve ever watched and listened to. Great job. I had tears in my eyes when Billy Sunday Birt accepted Jesus into his life. Good luck to the entire Birt family.
I'm tearing up. Praise the Lord.
They haven't mentioned AD Allen who ran Jackson County Georgia for years from the Sherrif to the DA extra, ain't mentioned Ralph Worley who blew up the county solicitor . Billy aint shit on AD Allen's exploits. Kidnapped a bank owner etc...
This guys life should be made into a movie, its truly unbelievable.😂💰💯
This mans life would be such an amazing movie if done right. Like Martin Scorsese directing and Matt Damon as Pirate!!!
🎉
I’ve listened to message for 6-8 hours straight, wasn’t sure why!!! But Ol Billy Sunday Bird getting Baptized made COMPLETE SENSE!!!😢 Thank you for your Service!!!
Outstanding!!!
Good grief...wth is this nonsense?
I don’t know if anyone involved in this podcast will see this But I know of a case that would make a great podcast and help free a innocent man Google Charles Mccory vs Alabama
Good luck getting the GBI involved in anything but covering up the crimes of the corrupt state government of Jawja.
Video is one RUclips “Interview with Billy Wayne Davis”
Heard the interview about the Durham case the other day, I don’t remember who exactly but Ingram told Davis at the end of the interview he would talk to someone and tell them he was cooperative so for him to say he didn’t promise anything is suspect.
Wow this guy should write fiction novels this whole thing sounds like tony soprano with a Banjo
Shit happened down here and I've heard the story's
They were scared of an old man with Parkinson’s 🤣 no guards would be scared of a geriatric shakin Steven’s 🤷♂️
This is a good podcast. These people did exist and most small towns had such characters. But, here's the thing, this wasn't The Dixie Mafia. There was no single Dixie Mafia, just as there was no single Mafia boss. There was no coordination between the thugs in different parts of the South. They coordinated within a small town, or even small cities if it were to their mutual benefit. But, this was much the same as in any county with a criminal element. Almost every county in the US has a group of scum that preys on it's citizens. To call any one of these scum clubs The Mafia, it The Dixie Mafia is to disregard the same element in Mississippi, Louisiana, Galveston, New Orleans...
Yes mob in Ga, hell it's where hafa is
For any interested the corruption in Georgia and especially Cobb County is still alive and well.
A very good series but I wouldn’t be able to drink a toast to him
Praise God
This is one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to. Didn’t listen on RUclips but almost want to relisten
😂😂pfffft hmmmph
This is one of the greatest stories I've ever heard. God is forgiveness.
It is a household conversation in my parts. Look up the Sherry murders in Biloxi.
I definitely heard of it. I believe there were some in Southeast GA as well
That's it, he fooled the women, weaker men, kids, and that 'honest' sheriff, but when that diabolical killa was remembered for comparisons of God and Jesus I hit stop. This series is a great crime story and has great production all around, but the underlying case for character rehab is appalling. Some of these mass killas are polarizing, that's for sure, I understand the family's perspective but even the narrator is sympathetic to a devil.
So what you’re trying to say is that the Lord doesn’t really have life changing power and abilities?
Listening to this podcast i remember Stoney as a man i worked for and his uncle Jimmy and in construction as a operator in local 926 both treated me better than anyone i ever worked for i wound like to see them both again
I'm from Morgan county Georgia my popa was Bobby Gene Anderson he always told me these stories glad this is all brought back to light after all this time
No way can I push Like, as it'd bring up triple 6. I just can't do it.
I'm from Georgia, lived in various rural areas of the state wll my 60+ years. And it never ceases to amaze me how people not from here are so scared of our history. There is a real lack of understanding and a tendency to believe some cartoonish one-dimensional version of Southern History. Coming up poor, whether black or white creates nuances, and not everyone is the same. I have read so many diaries, journals and letters i coukd talk for hours about it, but there's a reason we are the best writers and storytellers. It's because we have the best stories. I sit back and smile to see a yankee realize not all white Southerners are devils obsessed with screwing over others, and if you take the time to dive a little deeper, all that becomes apparent. I think i need to write my own book, even if just for my own family, about our family, and time is running out so need to get busy. 😊 It's nice to listen to something like this that doesn't demonize us. It happens all too often.
I had the pleasure of spending 2 weeks with Stonewall Birt on a pipeline job in Gwinnett County.I was the inspector on the job.Mr Birt was very kind and respectful to me and told me a few stories about his father.I truly enjoyed the time and fellowship with him. He’s a good, down to earth man that I have the utmost respect for.Haven’t seen him since that job in 1996 or 97 can’t hardly remember.Thank you Mr Birt for the time you spent with me and the respect you showed me.All the best to you and your family.
I like the Elvis part when Burning Love had just hit in 73! T.C.B.⚡
Any new developments?
If i was a big deal Hollywood producer i would go all in on a movie with big names and solid director a make one hell of a movie-- smokey thebandit meets the Godfather with a southern rock soundtrack & i would film it in Georgia!
Is that where the name boot ledger originated?
They didn't get the Dixie Mafia under control until the early 80's. My uncle was involved with these people and murdered by these people in 1978. Maybe not by Birt but by known associates. I've heard multiple stories about the pool hall growing up.
Why didn't you video the interviews?
I wish they would have to!
Timeless...
Davis is where he needs to be.
