The Ford Probe wasn't a bad car but the fact that they seriously thought it could replace a car as iconic as the Mustang was plain unintelligent. The Mustang started the pony car and muscle car race between Ford, Chevy and Dodge. Replacing the Mustang with the Probe (They should've brought back a old name plate like the Maverick instead of calling it the Probe.) is like replacing a gourmet hamburger with a PBJ sandwich made with store brand ingredients. 😂😂😂😂

When I first bought my (now sold) jcw mini I brought a set of brake calipers from a guy that had a 1992 eunos cosmos sitting right in the front yard. He said he bought it from South Africa years ago. It had a little bit of body rust and the seats were ripped a little bit, but it was still amazing to see one in person.

Completely tragic this wasn’t exported as an RX9 with a 6 speed manual. If they were allowed to use this motor in Europe and the US I am sure it would have had 350hp. That interior is to die for.

Fun fact as my father bought a brand new car at a Mitsubishi dealership and my uncle bought a used Ford Probe that literally broke down as he was leaving the dealer😅. I've been in love with the Ford Probe ever since. Unfortunately the Ford Probe eventually gave up and so did my uncle. Hug your loved ones as much you can

When I first heard about this thing I immediately knew that I wanted one, especially because of how cool the interior looks! With how rare they are I highly doubt that I'll ever be able to own one but it is definitely very close to the top of cars I would like to one day own

Touch Screen / Infotainment System = No Sale as far as i am concerned. Give me another option. Give me a basic simple button layout. Not only do touch screens have massive safety issues. These Infotainment systems are a Data Security and Data Privacy nightmare. Repair costs are going to be higher as well, when something goes wrong. And on the line of Costs. If these Screens are saving companies money. Why are Automobiles these day so expensive. No thank you. I have lost interest in new Automobile since I do not have the option to opt out of the Touch Screen / Infotainment System.

But all these car are more expensive than a spaceship, there wont be any cool cheap cars in the future

I agree, and have heard that some auto makers are dumping the screens soon. I don't recall all the brands, but I know VW was one and I also think Toyota. They make them like that because it's cheaper

Probe Aftermarket Parts are hard to come by in 2024....but these cars are absolutely amazing.

Just checking this vid out again in 2024.. Man! i am amazed at the sheer amount of comments and interest in this car! Took me almost an hr to reach the last of the comments...As a 30 yr owner of a 94 probe gt 5spd, I tempted to do a channel on Very long term ownership of this car and what its taken to keep it as a daily driver for 3 decades.. seems there might be interest... I 've had every issue imagineable with mine, its been like a Pandora's box of problems once you are in the 200-300k mi range...Ive got Lots of hard earned knowledge to share but Ive never made a youtube channel b4 nor done an upload.

All touch screens should be disabled once moving. if their is no knob or button for it //it should be unable to modify once moving. No exceptions.

First car I ever bought! Back in 2002, I was 17, saved money working at the movie theater. It was a 96 GT. It is interesting how everyone that ever owned one have such endearing memories of it. I've gone on to much faster and more powerful cars, but I still get hit in the feels for the old Probe. If I'm being objective, it definitely handled very well, it wasn't really quick though. That 2.5, for some reason, sounds great. But it anyone thinking of buying one, be forewarned: they aren't terribly reliable and they're pretty hard to work on. Wouldn't recommend as an only car.

I have both generation probes 89GT and 95GT. I brought the 89 back to life and now my wife won’t let me get rid of it! lol It’s been 3 years of ownership with the 89 and now we just found a 95 probe gt with 111k miles and dude trade the whole car for a set of cg19 BBS rims for it! Putting in a new clutch and flywheel was the only issue and he said there was no A/c but I found the air line for the door disconnected! We still have not seen either generation here in Las Vegas NV . I’ve gone to a few cars and coffee events in the 89 but be cooler when we show up in both!

The probe is such a good car it handles great. Until you drive the prelude and realize you could have gotten something so much better for the same price.

Wow people are airheads. Had a 95 probe. It had spectacular handling even with a rusted off sway bar and the best was it got 38 mpg. This was during the height of the energy crisis of 2008. It was a stick shift and ran very smooth. Felt stupid to get rid of it but someone hit the rear fender in parking lot and that was it. With more TLC it could have got over 40mpg
