The volley: a tennis lesson by Tony Roche (edited in Spanish)

Ken Rosewall adding some comments as well and good images & comments showing A Ashe, S Smith, J Newcombe, J Connors, G Vilas, V Gerulaitis, F Sedgman, B Teacher, P Dent and M Edmondson, all of them great players. This clip has been processed and edited from my original VHS tapes and published with NO commercial interest.

This is a tennis gem. Good footage with John Newcombe and Tony Roche playing together at Manly Lawn Tennis courts. Funny comments listened to Ken about mate Lew Hoad (golden boys). Stan Smith serving very close to the camera and playing beside Bob Lutz; good images showing Arthur Ashe on court. Edited from my VHS tapes (spanish versión) with minor changes and no commercial interest.

Stan Smith & Bob Lutz: men`s doubles (Jack Kramer tennis lessons)

The great US Davis Cup doubles couple S Smith and B Lutz talking about the game. Stan and Bob were some the best double teams ever seen on court, no doubt about that. This vintage clips is a great opportunity to remember all tennis fans their shots and the incredible achievements they got together; Arthur Ashe and Dennis Ralston in the other side of the court.

Arthur Ashe: the psychological game (Jack Kramer tennis lessons)

The great Arthur Ashe, who apparently was the producer of these nice videos launched in VHS format, is giving some advice about how to handle the psychological aspects of the game. Very good shots, specially those recorded during training sessions and at clay court in Paris; in both he was showing his flawless and "unique" game.

US player Dennis Ralston in return and great Arthur Ashe serving, this is nice vintage tennis to watch; DR was a very good doubles player and lost 1967 Wimbledon final vs Manuel Santana. I saw both players July 1971 in Valencia (Spain) managing a clinic, that was something special for all us. RIP both tennis champs, we will never forget you.

Brian Gottfried was an excellent player (US) with great skills at clay courts; runner-up in Roland Garros 1977, he reached Wimbledon Semifinal 1980. 3:27.

The key to a well-hit one-handed topspin or underspin backhand is not just a 90 degree shoulder turn so that the lead shoulder is pointing towards the net, but also moving one's feet quickly so that the lead foot is either pointing towards the net or at about a 45 degree angle to the net!
