    Hey, thank you for your video. One thing I don't understand is why would you apply the changes in the PR before merging into main branch. Isn't the point of GitOps that the "main" branch would be the source of truth for your infrastructure? If there are 2 developers creating pull requests and both of them applying their changes, how would a third colleague know what is the latest state of the infrastructure?

    • @Chathumal2011
      @Chathumal2011 Месяц назад

      The main branch always contains the current infrastructure state. So if someone needs to create new infra change he has to first clone the main branch and create a PR, ataltins apply it and finally merge. I think it will not allow us to merge to main branch without fulfilling all the checks in the PR which includes applying the terraform changes. If 2 developers working on the changes on same 'terraform state' file ( means they both are working on the same directory ), atlantis plan will run only for the 1st Pull Requests ( who ever creats ) and will be shown the changes as a comment. Then if the 2nd one creates another PR, atlantis will not plan his changes and instead he will be notified (as a comment of course) that another PR (1st PR in this case) is in progress and need to close it in order to proceed. Then they both can discuss each other to proceed with which one first. Lets say these 2 guyz are from different teams and don't know each other, then the 2nd guy has to wait until the 1st guy plans and applies his changes. Once done, the 2nd guy has to pull the changes from the main branch and update the PR. Then continue with atlantis plan and apply.

    I was analyzing your youtube channel .Your RUclips channel has less subscribers, less videos, less views and your videos are not properly SEO'. If you solve these problems then your income will come from two sides from the RUclips channel and people will know about your business and your business will increase. The more subscribers will increase, the views will increase and your business will expand. Revenue will come from the channel. Do you want to increase subscribers and video views for monetization?

    Uh, no. You waste all that money on golf courses and DEI and Diversity and Equity, and all your Cult shyt is hurting the world. I will not do more with less. That is impossible. We will make more, and we will consume more like we always have. And if the product is scarce, then you need to start making or growing more or mining more. And no, we won't be running out anytime soon. The only thing you ever need to worry about is how many humans you have. Population Collapses can destroy the entire world. That's what you need to focus on, making more people and colonizing the moon and then Mars. There is no way around it no matter what. Moon is a perfect staging area for launching to other planets. The atmosphere is easier to fight on the moon then on earth.

    • @envZero
      @envZero Год назад

      Yeah, it's counterintuitive, but open sourcing helps everyone move faster, so we can focus on truly innovating instead of multiple orgs reworking what's essentially the same underlying infrastructure. It's kind of like... back in the day, companies used to have a CEO. Chief Electrical Officer. Who would be in charge of ensuring that the organization had the electricity needed to function. But now those utilities are publicly shared by all.

  • @adamzachary6947

    I am so confused. I still don't get the point! Say I have Azure DevOps and I develop my Terraform code, ADO has the CI/CD workflow already in place! all the security integration say with Key vault or any other KMS. I build my branches, staging, testing, approvers, triggers, notifications, etc. How Env0 is going to help me in this case ??

    • @envZero
      @envZero 2 года назад

      Great question. We see this all the time. Most orgs build their infrastructure provisioning into their CI/CD pipeline. But infrastructure provisioning doesn't behave the same way application deployments do. (CI/CD workflow can create infrastructure, but how does it manage Day 2 operations? In that scenario, I'd think about how we manage the lifecycle of infra, how do we detect drift, monitor resources, have guardrails to protect devs from accidentally destroying resources in production, and create granular RBAC for governance/compliance).

      You’re absolutely right, Drew. If someone is using only AWS, it makes way more sense to use default tags. But if there is any multi-cloud use, Terratag can help standardize the tagging and deployment process.
