The lack of a radio tuning dial on the infotainment is a real pain in the butt with how clunky the underlying Toyota interface is, also a bit of a personal anecdote from my folks 2023 xle but I've found that android auto tends to be extremely disconnect happy when connected via usb That being said it's a bulletproof commuter that's quite spacious and handles any condition of road quite well. handled regular 150km round trips to work with little to no fuss

Great review! I enjoyed it so much I watched it a second time! You're so right that in both Canada and the USA, Corollas are in very high demand. Here in Texas, new Toyota Corollas are being sold for $3000-$4000 over the sticker price because so many people want to buy one! In fact it's much cheaper to buy a new VW Jetta because the demand for Jettas are a lot less so the VW dealer discounts the Jetta price.

The Corolla isn't overhyped, and it's the perfect compact car for many people. That said the Honda Civic and Mazda 3 exist and both outclass the Corolla in some ways that are important to some people. My personal choice is the Mazda, but you really can't go wrong with any of those 3 choices. Hyundai/Kia also make some intriguing options with the Elantra/Forte-K4, but I worry about the longevity of the drivetrain in those cars. If you're the type that does perpetual 3-4 year leases then the Korean cars would be fine.

Strange...as long I can recall that engine is not turbocharged. It's just updated 4 inline naturally aspirated engine that produces slight more then previous 2.0 with 152hp.
