I just don't get why the k teck strut appears to be smaller in diameter. You'd think the larger diameter strut should have better dampening. I wonder if there's a way to modify the factory one to dampen more?

I'm sure a torque wrench would be a good investment.

Real world battlefield conditions! And I thought I was the only one who hangs a bike to work on it. I had a similar condition with my Honda CRF250L working on the shock/swing arm suspension. Not much factory grease so I took mine apart and also used marine grease. When I had it apart I drilled 1/16" holes at strategic positions so in the future I can use my needle nose chainsaw bar tip greaser to inject grease while the thing is assembled. You might have to not only drill through the aluminum casting but also drill through the steel tube insert pressed into the fitting from the factory the bearing run inside. Clean out the swarf so it does not get into the bearings and re-assemble the parts. I tested the holes afterwards and they do pump in grease enough to ooze out the sides. One thing you have to do after greasing the holes is to clean them really well with brake cleaner and daub spots of gasket sealer over the holes to keep out the dirt. Then in the future you scrape off the gasket sealer and re-grease then cover the holes again with gasket sealer. Nice video!
