If you don't know how to play the guitar and you're commenting that someone else plays it better, you're making a mistake. Randy is an excellent guitarist and a significant figure in the metal community, but Zakk plays this piece perfectly.

Petrucci has great technique but Gilmore just sounds amazing... It gives me chills how bad ass his solo is

Love them both, but Randy is Randy. He was a generational influence on his instrument. Zakk is a wonderful player and person too, but we can only assume Randy would’ve continued to Eve love bc he was a student of music, and the instrument. No telling what hed have become.

Everyone and their dog has done a variation of Comfortably Numb on RUclips and there are some amazing interpretations of the original version by Gilmour but it's all about taste and perception and personal taste in the way the solo is played so it's a dumb question to ask who is best Gilmour or Petrucci.
