I would have put it odds on to die. Those guys are waaaaay too close together and exposed to the same danger.

As an experienced armchair mountaineer, I must point out that a serac collapse like this is a fairly common cause of falling deaths. Stay well back from the edge of seracs.

Looks so beautiful! I typically ski at Grand Targhee in Wyoming. But, I think I need to add this to my list! :)

This is how two (out of 4) climbers lost their lives on Everest's corniced summit ridge in May 2024 when a huge cornice at the Hillary Step collapsed. The sherpa had unclipped himself and his client so they could climb up and around the slower climber. That was pure inexperience of the sherpa and he should never have been taking clients, who have no way of checking his certifications since Nepal does whatever they want.
