Vision Pro DESTROYED!! Saved by AppleCare!
Просмотров 25 тыс.8 месяцев назад
NEW UPDATES BELOW Vision Pro destroyed after accidental drop. Beware of the tethered battery pack! @practicalmatters8587 Like and subscribe! Updates: 2/26/24 Sean from Apple (online) spent about two hours with me ironing out the Express Replacement process. In all fairness, it’s a new product and process, so just happy he was able to get it done. Apple is sending me out a new VisionPro, which I...
Eight Ways to Spot a Fake Scotty Cameron Putter (Teryllium T22)

Multiple indicators that your Scotty Cameron Teryllium putter is fake
We all have this happen (managed to have that happen to my S9 days after i got it, was using it while charging, i quickly stood up and wanted to rush to the bathroom and i somehow send it across the entire room and the screen didn't survive :c)
Great vid explaining about AppleCare and Vision Pro. Is that a 9th or 8th gen iPad showing the steps how to disassemble the straps?
would you sell the damaged one?
except the eyes effect, this damage alters the functionality of vision pro??? (e.g. the cameras and/or other components).
so happy for you
brother you should get the neck that carries the baterry for a future super good accesory it hold it up
Should never been glass to begin with it should be plastic
buy a vision pro screen protector
How much did this cost you out of pocket to replace even with AppleCare? Want to know Before I become more generous with giving family demos 😂
New fear unlocked. Thank you for sharing. I’ll pay attention to mine 😦😦
If you can make it in one it's a fake
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. That power cord always bothers me. Sometimes I wish it could be part of the headset mounted to the back behind my head to eliminate the cord and serve as a counterbalance.
So stupid they didn't just made it clear plastic....
THANKS FOR THE INFO
The turning point on the neck seems to be different too (eBay one is "rounded", where the original has a more pronounced angle like the newer Scotty models)
Does anyone know where the serial number should be on these putters?
How much did you pay for the replacement? Thanks for sharing.
I have the AppleCare plan, which is $25/month...plus I paid $299 for the replacement
@@practicalmatters8587 They charged you 299$ even though you pay 25$/month? Wasn't the AppleCare plan suppose to cover it?
Tell em……it’s $300 to do this.
These things are the dumbest things apple was able to get fanboys to spend their money on. Lol
Uff, my Index has fallen many times in 3 years of usage, still everything works.
Thats why Apple put that glass infront , to charge yuo when yuo break it😊😅😮
I just crack a little on my headset and i have apple care do u think I can get replacement its like a littler crack on it
Definitely
Solution buy a Quest 3😊 I wouldn't even buy a part, it is just a huge money making gimmick for Apple to cover their losses in China and failure of iPad sales. Good upload though.
how much you paid ?
I have the AppleCare plan, which is $25/month...plus I paid $299 for the replacement
JUST FUCKING BREAK THE FRONT MORE NOT DEEP THERE IS A SECOND LAYER OF GLASS
That's hardly a repair is it. You've replaced the broken one with a new one. 🤦
Thanks. Apple lists it as their repair process, but I didn’t use “repair” in the title or description.
So, no gorilla glass😂😂
That is not a repair.
Thanks. Apple lists it as their repair process, but I didn’t use “repair” in the title or description.
It blows my mind that people spend such much money on products like this while their home is in such poor condition. Weird priorities 🤦🏻
I agree with you 100% but WTF is wrong with his house?????
@@seanjohnston1076 I mean kitchen furniture for example, drawers don’t even close properly. My point is he should provide a better kitchen for his family (for example) before splooging on Apple products 🤷🏻♂️
I mean a see a drawer in the back that's not closed but it doesn't show anything obviously wrong with it so it just might not be closed lol@@toby00001
@@practicalmatters8587 oh no, my post has a spelling mistake, I guess it’s completely incomprehensible now :)
@@practicalmatters8587no, not triggered. My opinion is my opinion, it’s perfectly valid, I think you and many people like you have priorities that are a net drag on society rather than a net boost. You can’t convince me otherwise, and you don’t have to agree, that’s fine :)
This is all so dumb
You’re dumb 😊 not really but why leave this comment
There's an idea for a new product, a magnetic snap connector for the power cord.
Not a rebuild just a replacement
Thx. Exactly what I was thinking about.
The entire device was basically replaced lol
awesome!
Interesting to see how the lenses pop right out and easily go into the other Vision Pro! Great video!
This is just a bad, shiny design from Apple. Just imagine how many people will accidentally drop this device on the front. Soon, we will have third-party companies printing plastic covers, and Apple, in their GREEN REPORT, will say proudly that no plastic is used in our products.
what do you replacement they sent you the whole fking part where the computer and all the expensive components are in stupid enough to smash the delicate plastic lamenated glass on the front? to bad guess you have to buy the whole thing again and they go on to virtue signal their "environment freindlyness" joke
Seems like they made it so difficult to repair that they'd rather send a new device over replacing the glass.
As posted above, with Applecare+ you pay $299, they ship you the unit, you send the unit back and they refurbish the old unit. The nightmare of trying to replace the glass as an average user is avoided and the only waste is in the shipping - which appears to be nicely formed cardboard and minimal besides that. For first gen products and ones that are expensive I'd recommend doing the AppleCare+. The front glass is not going to be very cheap when it's available to other repair places, and the labor costs will likely be higher since it's a delicate procedure. This is not a small phone we're talking about - it's a full display and such, just like breaking an expensive computer screen.
@@davidrutanCustomers with an AppleCare+ plan will pay $299 for the repair in addition to the $499 one-time fee for accidental damage. It's not only 299...
Over 3 grand? 😅 no way
look at his place he has the money.
My question would be about storage. How do you tranfer any personal information from your old set to the new one?
I think you can wirelessly transfer it during setup. iPhones can wirelessly transfer data from old iPhone to new iPhone during setup by scanning a code. I'm assuming apple vision pro can do it too.
Before sending back the old unit, I reset the old device to factory settings, where it gave me the option to backup everything to the cloud. When I set up the new device, it gave me the option to restore whatever I wanted, such as settings, data, and apps.
Bro i know someone who will fix it for you next time
Uh huh
you should attempt to fix the broken one if there are third-party glass for sale and thanks for the update too
That’s going in the box and being shipped to Apple I’ll bet. Almost always required to send back damaged parts in order to prove you’ve made a valid claim.
They send you a new replacement, but you have to return the old one within 10 days or so. I already sent it back today.
Looking forward to see any manufactures , who's willing to make a saphire-crystal one, and corporate with ifixit to have this upgrade done! If some company really do, I'll be the first one to pay for it.
They sent you a whole new apple vision pro, with the old one, it could still work
You are required to send the Broken one back within 10 days
Couple questions and thanks for keeping us updated. You had mentioned previously that with your initial trip to the Apple store, they sent you home and made you wait. Can you detail the process more from the time of your initial interactions. How long from first contacting them to your replacement arriving? What was the cost to you since you had the Apple Care? Thanks again for documenting the process, I think I may now buy Apple Care for mine since they did seem to take care of you.
The entire process took just over a week. There were a couple of early issues… They were just learning and developing the process themselves…and there weren’t replacement units initially available. Once they got things figured out, they sent a unit out on Tuesday and I received it Wednesday (yesterday). I believe going forward, the process will only take 2 to 3 days. AppleCare plus offers two options as I understand it. You can pay $499 for two years of full coverage, which ends at that point. Or you can pay $25 per month and end it at any time…even after the two-year period ends, I believe. I also had to pay $299 as a sort of deductible with the coverage for damage to the main unit. Other damage is considerably less. You can verify this online before making your decision. Hope this helps.
@@practicalmatters8587Thanks. I'm glad you're back up and running. It's nice that they didn't make you send the original back before getting the new one.
@@practicalmatters8587I’m wondering if they would let you pay the $500 for two years and then switch to the $25/month plan before the two year ends.
@@practicalmatters8587what about thedamaged unit you have? Will you mail them or submit to store or just keep it with yourself?
@@MrTalhakhan01doesn’t their say he’s to use the packaging to send the damaged part(s) back to Apple?
Great video!!
Do you not have accidental damage coverage on home contents insurance?
Not sure, but interesting point. Although I’m covered by AppleCare and it’s now been replaced
Let this be a valuable lesson I'm glad I learned it with my pair of headphones I had 10 years ago in which the same thing happened. I'm always making sure I never repeat that mistake again.
I gotta say, the whole dramatization, the angles that only showed the cracked screen at the right time, the construction of the scenario with the surprise pillows so it doesn't damage further but causes the needed suspense. That was really good and impressive. Props to you. I loved.
Thanks for that! Honestly, my family has been saying (and sometimes complaining) that I’ve been doing that for years! 😜
Thank you for sharing. This will make my use with it more careful. I hope they replaced it for a new one in your visit to the store.
Thanks, they are replacing through the AppleCare program
Thats your own fault they wont give You a refund because you faild to use it correctly.
Thanks, as I said, it was my fault…but I have AppleCare which covers accidental damage. The replacement is on the way.
@@practicalmatters8587 Your lucky then because they dont usually do that. They probably dont want the negative PR so keeping You quiet.
Dang 😮
