The problem with Griffintown is that it is a constant construction site. There's dust everywhere and constant noise from all of the jackhammers and building going on. It'll be a lovely place when it's more settled.
Get back on the 401 If you don't plan on learning French, we don't need you. Call me a racist or whatever. You are not welcomed. Case Closed.
If you come to live in English only. We don't want you in Montréal, take the 401. thanks
Very good ! Could you please send me the link about travel time?
Holy moly. The average income is 48k and the median property is 847k for a single family house? I work in tech so my salary is reasonably good but even with my partner's salary we wouldn't be able to afford a home for our family. It's a sad time to be a young Canadian nowadays.
Old port?
Hello, I’m evaluating an offer from the company I work for to move front Italy to Montréal. We are a family of five. The company is in Mirabel. What is the basic annual salary suggested for a family like this?
Ciao! I have a single friend that i know for sure earns about ~7k/month NET and rents a modern apartment in Mirabel. Then, i had clients (couples / families) from all revenues, the lowest that i remember is a couple without children making about 130k/year gross, and on the higher end, over 300k/year gross. Check the website Numbeo Montreal and build an excel file with expenses that correspond to your lifestyle. Expect about 2-2.5k per month for rent.
What is the relative better areas to live on the West Island or A40 and A20 heading west of Montréal? Merci 😊
A20 because you skip all of the a40 traffic. The south west side of Montreal has more highways to access
So you are working for housing development

Can a $450,000 to $550,000 price range get you into a two bedroom or one plus den condo in Griffintown? If not, where closer to downtown can we find something in that price range?
Yes. There are 4 apartments under 450k for sale right now. Call me if you want to go see them :) 514- 404 7888
Nothing beats westmount
Beautiful place to live for sure!
I got a place in Rosemont 1st avenue right next to the main street. How is that area...not that I can change...lol
I love rosemont! Plenty of nice feedback from my clients.
Thanks for the video, very informative. What about places like Deux Montagnes, is it considered part of Montreal?
Hello Bao Luan! Yes, Deux Montagnes is west of the North Shore & part of what is called Greater Montreal Area. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Montreal#/media/File%3AMontreal_Greater_Evolution.jpg
verdun?
Yes 👍🏼 my past clients live very happily in Verdun
So griffintown is a bunch of high rise rentals with some coffee shops and restos. How is it different from other Burroughs
Imo + feedback from clients, higher density brings liveliness to the area. Also “walk to the office” or “bike to the office” is waaay more common for those living there and working downtown. Thank you for watching 🫶🏻
@@Livinginmontreal still not seeing anything special to griffintown. Honest question though what makes it different? Or are these general things uncommon in Canada so it makes it special that way. Thanks again for clarifying
Naturally, what makes a place special is how much the place meets your needs and expectations. Most of the feedback of the happiest experiences i’ve heard come from clients that know what they want and are flexible enough to try living in places that might match most of their lifestyle. Plus Montreal is such an “easy commute” place, that should there be something that you need that is not available walking distance, you can have relatively easy access on the island :)

For me, French is a pro and that is the reason I'd go to Montreal and not other cities and would be to learn the beautiful French language
Jeyful! Thank you for the comment! French itself is neither a pro nor a con. The video expresses Not speaking French and moving here because of the limiting nature of not knowing this language and living here. However, when you learn French, it is a fantastic language, and I'm so thankful I had the opportunity of discovering this beautiful language. Was it hard to find jobs before I spoke French? My experience is definitely! It never discouraged me, I went in all the way and learned it, and today it is my primary language at home, at work, and in general.! Au revoir!
It does not sound beautiful thw way the Québécois speak it.
The whealthy to the Homeless!
I believe a more “politically correct” way of saying it is: average/median household income may DRAMATICALLY vary from one borough to an other hehehe 🤭
It would be nice if you could do one short video about Old Montreal area, what the prices are like there, what kind of people live there and what the community is like.😀 Thanks. :)
Noted! The next 3 vids are in production right now. I’ll cue that one for sure.
@@Livinginmontreal That's awesome, thanks 👍 looking forward to the videos and who knows, if we decide to leave Toronto and start a new life in Montreal, we'll need an agent 😉
@@MM-qv5lfold montreal doesn’t have much services. Especially grocery stores. Nice area. Good vibe although touristy. Montreal always find the way to open cool restaurants and cafes so Old Mtl remains a nice place for locals. Right next to booming griffintown, and well deserved by subways. I like old Montreal, but I prefer less touristy areas, like Mile End, Little Italy, Verdun near wellington street (upcoming place, Hochelaga (although very poor and its sometimes showing), Villeray and, further away, NDG or Masson street. I live in the Plateau… way overprices (I bought decades ago…).
@@dcorman2350 Thanks for sharing, appreciate all the feedback. I would move to Montreal in an instant but unfortunately without French, I think it would be a bit hard when it comes to employment. :( Love the city though, it's absolutely amazing!
@@MM-qv5lfnobody needs to speak French, unless your customer facing at walmart. Would be great if you can learn, to enjoy the full experience (I lived in Japan… speaking the vasic opened so many doirs to great experience).

How is french a con? Weird. I find it a plus!!!! Learned french when i came here and happy i did!
That's great! Me too, learned it and studied in French and it is our main language at home :) It is only if you talk to enough people in the process of moving here, and that moved here with a job for example, you will for sure hear over an over that not speaking French is a con for sure! Godspeed 😀
Hi Tomas... I was expecting more videos from you...are you ok...?
Hello Sandra! We were in a recess, we had to figure out a new law (Bill-96). Fortunately it has been clarified and I can do videos in English on RUclips!!! Next shoot is on Tuesday next week! Is there anything in particular that you wish to see as content? cheers! Tomas
This is my true story of a horrific experience that happened to me on renting apartments in Montreal, i had to look for a new apartment to rent due to having to leave my apartment i was at due to fire damages that was caused by another tentant in apartment complex, anyhow i soon there after found a new apartment, this new apartment was renting for $1100.00 it had just been renovated and really nice and clean, however my horrific experience was just about to get much worse, just at the time the covid19 outbreak came around i was settling into my new apartment and really happy i had found a new place,so i thought...i soon began feeling very sick in this apartment and i kept trying to figure out why i was feeling this way, well to cut my true story short,i found out after 5 months and becoming really sick that there were drug dealers who had set up a crystal meth lab in an apartment agent to my mine and the fumes from cooking making this crystal meth drug had been seeping into my apartment and getting me very sick, still today i have lingering horriffic symptoms do to the meth poisoning, i have seen doctors and explained to them about my bad experience,i have persistance symptoms of lung problems, sinuses and bad headackes,i found out the chemical these drug dealers were using to make cook this crystal meth was called Ether,Ether is a mix of sulfuric acid and alcohol along with other very toxic dangerous chemicals, however the Ether chemical mix has a very deceiving sweet smell not a bad smell which makes it deceiving to the sense of smell leaving you thinking how wounderful the air smells around one, also very hard to detect in the air because it blends well with other smells if you`ve rented apartments before you know you will have all kinds of new smells around, how i found out there was a crystal meth lab next to my apartment is a long story,by that time i had found out i had been poisoned really bad, but what was just as bad as getting poisoned sick is that when meth contamination seeps into apartments, everything becomes contaminated,i mean everything, from cloths to furniture,tv ,bed, ect ect to the smallest objects, everything nothing escapes,i couldn`t take anything with me due to meth residue contamination, meth lab residue spores are really bad, they will linger in everything for years and continue making one very sick, it is very very hard to wash or get rid of,i had to dispose of everything i had, thousands of dollars lost, all my belongings,it was horrible so horrible, the land lord of the building had no idea this was going on and only later to find out, from what i have found out, these dangerous meth lab apartments are quite common, real scary,i only rent from a friend now and will never again rent from strangers,i still feel sick with lasting bad symptoms and fearing for my health, please i would like to know if any readers reading this had similar experience, please feel free to reply, the Ether mix is of sulfuric acid and alcohol making it very toxic and poisonous, very hard to detect it`s fumes in the air because of it`s sweet smell plus these fumes and spores could travel long distance if in buildings, other chemicals also used are ammonia and acetone in the making of crystal meth,Renter beware.
that's terrible, what happened to the meth makers? were you able to sue them? I hope you get better
Wow you did great job Thanks 🙏 bro
Thanks to you.
I have subscribed to your channel for your Nobel efforts to help others
Thanks and welcome :)
Very good video and information shared
Thanks for liking
Really good feedback, thanks. I'm agree that the French is not a con. It's an opportunity to learn this language and it's the charm of this city. It's also the main language, so it can't be a con. If you move to Mexico city you can't say that speaking spanish is a con.
Thank you for your comment! I agree French itself is not a Con, and that is why i specifically clarify that it is a Con if you don’t speak it. Although it is possible to live here as an anglophone, I leave it to anyone moving here if they want to find out how much not speaking French could affect their experience of living here. More videos to come! Any subjects that you wish to see when considering moving here?
Yeah, can't wait for the gouvernements to tax the **** out of the foreign people for real estate. You guys will create another vancouver here. Don't have anything against anyone but it's because of foreign money coming in that it creates the crisis we have now in montreal, it has to stop. By the way, i don't live in montreal but i'm an owner ! I know the game going on !
It’s definitely very particular times! As a realtor, i can attest that none of my peers neither I have seen a lot of investors from overseas (not living or moving here); certainly not at the rate Vancouver and Toronto have experienced. We deal with mostly locals and a lot of relocation from other provinces in Canada, US and other countries.
Thanks for all the information!!

Hahaha no kidding!!!! Sunset today is at 16h22 :(
How on Earth can you say that the French language is a con when considering moving to Montreal? Do you realize what you're saying? You're actually implying that French is a problem and that everybody would be better off if the common language was English instead... This kind of colonialist and Anglo-suprematist attitude is an insult to all Québécois. If you absolutely want to live in an English-speaking environment, do us a favor: move somewhere else in North America.

I don't understand how French is a con if it is the common langage in Quebec. Can you expand on that? I see it as a pro: makes Montreal unique in North America. Thank you!

There are plenty of great cities in north america. Why on earth would you come in the only place that doesn’t speak english and complain that french is a con ?
