The DNR would drill these same hulls in the back of the boat, just like you did there; then for the off-season the would stand these boats on-end (with the transom to the ground); gravity did the rest; leave it that way through a few dry winter months and it should dry-out.
Thanks Joey, trying to figure out something similar up in Nova Scotia, Canada. Ingenious troubleshooting!
I may be wrong but that shop air "dryer" just filters particulate water that can damage a paint job. I don't believe it reduces the humidity of the air. Your shops air going thru it may not be dry enough to "absorb" and carry out any moisture in the hull. It's real hard to absorb moisture out of waterlogged or soaked sponge. Maybe its best to "Drive" the water out.... I would put some thought into making some kind of heat source under the boat to heat the water so it vaporizes and drive it out . I would set up some sort of temperature alert with whatever system is devised to limit the temperature to maybe 130 F.
Is Cooper still available?
Do you have anything to trade for Cooper? Jeeps, tractors, trucks etc?
Thanks for sharing. Helps a lot
Constant vacuum boils moisture. Lay a tarp over the inside of hull to kinda seal it up and put a vacuum pump on it for quite a while.
Looks like the ages of my Grandbabies. About 3 & 1/2 years apart. They're so sweet at that age.
Hope you round up the shrimp.
My guy made a turbine garbage can heck yah brother 💯
I hope they eat well, they have to be on their toes (hooves) this coming weekend. Thanks for showing us where they are. Stay safe and warm.
maybe vacuuming from the garman holes with a dehumidifier under a sealed/covered top.... that might work even better.... maybe? excellent vid👍👍
Awesome
Get em
I have an outbuilding like that with a small fence 40" high on one side, partially blocking the entrance, forcing one to step over to gain entry. In the middle is a stack of firewood and another pathway with another parallel stack of wood , forming an alley way. Inside, about 4 feet into the room is a VERY THIN trip wire holding in a pin to a large air horn that can be heard for miles that blasts for about 4 minutes. It's a trap. That pathway you can use to exit without hopping over the fence . . . has horse panel slightly buried in the ground. Every other tine has been cut and bent up about 1 inch and ground needle sharp for 16 feet of "pathway" with a (hidden from the doorway) dead end to prevent someone from using the pathway to initially gain entry. Trespassers welcome!
DAMN, I'm incorporating your tips soon!
Kind of a creepy little cabin in the middle of nowhere..... I am amazed kids haven't shot out those windows with 22's.....
Looking good.
Your dog is great for tracking. You might want to get a German Shepard as another companion dog. He will protect you.
I feel your pain brother. Trespassers have taken over our land to.
Mornin' hun! That is a really cool little cabin. And I like your Dawg too! LOL New subscriber here.
Nice OTG cabin, Happy hunting.
You paid 3 times to much
Looking good.
Great idea to overcome that front deck design. I’ve got the same issue
What’s the diameter on those front rollers? My skiff has the same issue in steep landings. Pain in the butt!
8" diameter bow rollers work great at steep landings.
👍👍
See you on the water.
Setting right ✅️ 👌..
Nice! Are you still drying your boat out the same way or does it not need to be done?

Excellent job! good ol' country boy ingenuity..
How did you scrape the floor up?
Good job. Happy to see a new video. Maybe we'll see on the water.
Hi Joey, thats amazing but not surprising, as far as drying the foam goes I hate to piss on your parade but it will never happen. I'm in the middle of a boat project same thing foam is waterlogged deck is waterlogged i tried cutting some access holes and digging the foam out that way but proved to be a waste of time. Now the floor is gone and so is the soaked foam. Last trip to the dump was a nother 400 pounds of shit. FYI I've had a piece of soaked foam sitting on my heater for two weeks and its still soaked.
Why did you cut out the whole floor? Also was your boat not floating well and dangerous to operate?
Glad to see you back posting videos Joey, those are some great shrimp catches using a castnet.
Good idea about the silicone around the dust cap. I'll have to try that.
Remove all your cleats. How are you going to tie it up at the dock ?
Maybe we will see you on the water.
My brain is battling it out with my cheap side and my perfectionist side and I am having a tough time trying to justify a 500 dollar a gallon alexseal marine paint versus this 30 dollar a gallon rustoleum for my boat project
The paint has held up well. Keep in mind that my Skiff is kept under a shed when not in use. Direct sunlight is tough on everything.
Your net casting friend looks familiar . Those shrimps really look good.
Congratulations on your new grandbaby. I saw the picture of you fishing and read the comments that led me to find your RUclips channel. I will be looking forward for new fishing adventures from my old friend.
It’s best to add mineral spirits to the topside paint. It dries better
Watched a few of your video's to see how it worked out for you. Looks like a success! And you're enjoying that boat Noticed your samich cooler is bigger than your fish cooler!
Thanks buddy
where ever there is a hole in the deck is a wet cell. Cut the floor out and remove the wet foam and reglass. Each wet cell can be up to one cubic foot. One cubic foot = 7.48 gallons. 7.48 times the weight of a gallon of water (8.33) = 62.3 Pounds if completely full of water per cell. Im counting at least 10 cells with holes in them meaning up to 623 pounds of water are in there. To those that say it's no big deal do the math.
is there info on how to do this?
How has it held up thank you
Paint on floor still looks great. Boat gets regular use fishing and shrimping with no special treatment. Follow the instructions and you can't go wrong. Good luck to you.
Sounds like you need to cut the deck and replace the foam. Get it done
30 gal trash barrel 3 glugs muradic acid 20 min high idle, twice Keep a saltwater 120 ° thermostat in it
Hey Joey, how's the Carolina Skiff doing, haven't seen any new videos. You working on any new projects? I like your style of how you improvise and overcome things with your project, real down home problem solving.. getter done style.
The Carolina Skiff is doing well. I made four trips to the SC coastal waters with it this past shrimp baiting season. I took it out twelve nights total. The Skiff performed flawlessly each night totaling a catch of around 400 pounds. I plan to add a few more videos about the Skiff. My current project is a John Deere 450B track loader with backhoe. It needs my attention as did the Skiff. Thanks for watching. Enjoy.
@@joeyogston4421 Glad to hear you're still out there Joey and the skiff is still performing well for you. I bought a Carolina Skiff 21 last year and it's been a great boat for fishing the flats here on the gulf coast of FL. Can't wait to see your shrimping videos, I miss shrimping from when I did it as a kid. Good to hear you've got a new project in the works and videos coming, I'll be sure to catch them. Take care, and maybe I'll see out on the water sometime.
Any update on if you got your boat to plane? Seems about the best way to dry it up, curious if it worked for you
Carolina Skiff gets on plane easy now. I occasionally pull the garboard drain plugs and check for a dry hull. So far so good.
@@joeyogston4421 thanks for the reply! I am in the midst of a deal on one with the same problem. Not looking to make it perfect just usable so I figured if you made some improvement doing it this way it would be worth trying
